Bummer, Keri. Sorry to hear about your troubles. I had to work last night, but they sent me home when my equipment broke down. Now I'll be in good shape for a visit with everyone. See you next time....and I'll see the rest of you in a few hours.

My Barium swallow pics, does this look like a slip?
MyKdsDad replied to pati-o's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm no expert either, but the constant burning may be reflux from being too dang tight. -
Mary B. the answer to that question is no, I still want it as often as possible. And no, she doesn't wear any to bed....LOL

What underwear???

Dawgs on Hawgs will be at the Rose Amphitheater in Henderson, Texas...the weekend of April 29th. They still have a rally at Somerville, but it isn't DOH.

Jess, I believe you're gonna be a hottie! I've waited to post, so that no one would think I was some kind of a lecherous old man. By now you are probably starting to heal up quite a bit. I have been wondering if you or Kelly might provide us with waaaaaay after pictures. You usually get to see the "immediate" after pictures, but what does it looks like, say, 6 or 8 weeks post op?

JC, I got the PM and we are on track. Thanks for the heads up.

Happy Easter, Ladies......a bit late, but a sincere wish just the same.

Whoa, Debbie, can you make the font a bit larger. I'm getting up there in years and I'm not wearing my bifocals at the moment....

Hi Jennifer, I'm the DH. Welcome to LBT. My wife is going thru the same thing. She just had her second fill and she can eat just about anything, it seems. And I know I saw that barium just BARELY squeeze thru that band. What's up with that? And if she is losing at all, it is sooooooooo slowly. Maybe I should sign her up as a turtle??? Whaddayathing?

Hiyas Jess. Glad to see you made it out in one piece. Heal fast and well. Congratulations on the new, improved bod...

Hiya Hailey, we're not "here", like IM on Yahoo, but we see your post and get back to you when we can. Welcome to LBT...

Sherri, we had heard about a product called Unjury protein powder, through some of the threads here at LBT. The only way you can get it is online or phone. It is about $70 a month...four containers....and each one should last you about a week. Joy practically GAGS with every protein powder she tried until the Unjury showed up. Now....she's even putting some in her milk and eating it with her cereal. She adds a little to her Carnation Instant Breakfast each morning. Check it out at www.unjury.com

6 days post surgery.....need encouragement
MyKdsDad replied to Hopes place's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
PS, most of the doctors have a standing length of time they let you go BEFORE a fill. If you're losing regularly, you might not get one. But it's usually about 4 to 6 weeks post op. Wheetsin, be nice....hehehe Ellette, since you will be going back to your doctor pretty soon, call HIM and tell HIM of your concerns. That's what you pay HIM for. -
Alexandra, good news! Glad to hear that all is ok and that you are fine.

First of all, you have lost 8 pounds when you should not be worried about losing. Right now, your main focus should be to get healed up. For the chest pain, walk, walk, walk....Gas-X pills. Heart meds...my wife's Doc said that if they are not bigger than a dime, you should be able to swallow them. You are starving (head hunger) because you have nothing in your stomach or intestines. Keep something in there all the time...drink, drink, drink, sip, sip, sip. And, you have NO RESTRICTION. So everything you put in there just goes straight thru. The slippage can be caused by your stomach trying to mash up food, so nothing solid until the doc says so. You CAN move, that won't cause a slip. No, you are NOT ALONE with these feelings and YES, things will get BETTER. Yes, you will be able to eat again. And probably just about anything. But you have to give yourself time to heal and adjust and realize that you can't eat like you use to. -
JoLynn, you should be sooooo proud of yourself. I can't imagine that much in so short a time. I don't think it would be any faster if you cut off a limb or something. So when is the TT and the PS??? LOL Maybe you could talk Lisa into making that your prize??????? SWL

Kimber-lilly, you go, girl! Nothing like eating some "crow", being a bit humble and getting "reloaded" for bear. You rock! Rock on!

I doubt if there is a problem with your band, but Tina's advice is great. From your banding date, you are finishing up a week of mushies, or at least that is about where my wife was, 3 weeks out. Most people gain a little when they start mushies and/or solid foods again. You are probably hungry because the swelling has gone down and you haven't had a fill yet.
-
Good luck, Lisa and welcome to Bandlandia! Get home, lay up and heal up, don't worry about the weight. That comes off later.
-
Jess, Man!, I can't believe I didn't see this 3 days ago..... So this is sending you the thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery, minimum pain and tiny scars. I can't wait for the after pictures.....*EG* Heal well, live long and prosper.....(I sound like Mr. Spock)

Joy had her surgery back in December. BCBS of Texas sent a letter saying that she was eligible for benefits. Doctor sent us to a medical facility who accepts BCBS. When the bills were all sent out, totalling $42,000, BCBS paid a whopping total of $1629....that includes what they paid the doctor. We appealed the payment to the hospital and they are standing by their original determination. What the heck? They say we're covered then pay PENNIES on the dollar? Is there a secret list of payments out there somewhere that I'm not aware of? Am I going to be stuck with paying off the other thousands of dollars, now? They only allowed $273.99 for the operating room. Where in the state of Texas can you use an operating room for $274??? And if there is some cheapa$$ hospital that charges that much, would YOU want to go in there for surgery? I can only hope that if the hospital wants me to pay for it, they will accept $20 a month....you can't get blood from a turnip. And you can't get BCBS to pay squat on your lapband surgery......IMHO

Wow! Thank you everyone for all the advice and information. It certainly gives me ammunition for the fight. I'll let you know how it comes out.

ReneBean, I haven't paniced yet. I'll probably do like I said, pay them a little each month. It sure doesn't sound as if the dang insurance company is going to pay them any more.
