Cely, you listen to OUSooner, he's a weight losing machine. At the rate he's going, he's going to disappear here in about 5 months....LOL But I'm sure if you have a question, he can put your mind at ease. -
So, Angie, you're ok with your fill, now? I was going to say that the reason for the mushies is because your got your band/tummy roughed up and it has to "heal" for a few days. Don't rough is up more by putting solids in there too soon. I would say, eat less more often. The weight loss will come. Kaboom, if you are still eating the same as before but sliming, I would say that you are NOT chewing well enough or taking your time. The sliming happens when your body is trying to flush something through. DO NOT STUFF YOURSELF ! Slow down. Give your fill a chance to kick in (sometimes as mush as two weeks). It has only been 3 days.

Dustmouse, you might do a search in here for Dr. Spiegel. I'm not real sure, but I believe there was someone that had a MAJOR problem with him or his staff or something. I think he may have been the doctor that has cattle call fills. Run 'em in, fill 'em up, run 'em out kinda thing. If memory serves.....but then again, I'm getting old.......hehehehe

Hi Cely, welcome to the forum. I am the husband of the banded one, but I'm the one that does the posting. Congratulations on getting banded and on your weight loss. 19 lbs is fantastic!!! And that is without even being filled. Imagine how it will be after you hit that sweet spot. As for the heartburn and burping, a couple of things come to mind. First, my wife was advised not to eat beef...well...don't eat steak. It is stringy and some people have trouble getting it thru the stoma. The not being able to breath or burp thing sounds to me like my wife's signal that YOU'RE FULL ! With you band you have to relearn a few things and one of the biggest things is "listening" to your body. When a little bit of your food came back up, that could have been a lot of things. You ate too much, too fast, too spicy, too big a bite. So s-l-o-w down and enjoy your food, chew it till it doesn't have any "lumps". As far as helping with your meals, check out www.FitDay.com And keep coming back to LBT, ask questions, do research. -
Tomorrow is MY BIG DAY!! Bandster here I come!

Colleen, at this moment, you should just being going into the surgery suite. Good luck, heal well, may you have little pain, don't worry about the weight loss, it will come later. -
Carrie, welcome to the forum. When you have a question, ask away, someone will give you an answer. Hutto is a nice place. I passed thru there on my way to the ROT rally in Austin last year.

Tracy, when I rode with RFTW, I hooked up with them in Terrell, TX. We were on the Southern Route. The one that comes thru Kansas is probably the Central Route. We went thru Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Virginia and D.C. Some of the friends I made on the run went out to Ontario, CA last year and went coast to coast, a total of about 20 days. Should you ever get the hankerin', it is a worthwhile trip. And the 500,000 motorcycles sitting in the Pentagon parking lot is kind of impressisive, too.

Besides, Ambrosia, even if it was 32 lbs in a year, that's 32 lbs. And she has the rest of her life to lose more. The band has always been slow, slower for some.

The picture of me in my avatar is Memorial Day in Washington, D.C. 2005. I rode the Road King up there and back. 3360 miles.....*sigh*

Suzy, allow me to share some info that my wife passed along to me. She chews every mouthful to the point that she smears it along the roof of her mouth. If she can detect even the smallest "lump" she chews it some more. She has been banded a little over a year and has only experienced one bout of sliming. And I believe that one incident taught her a very good lesson. Of course, some people never learn.......

Spydr, that is some awesome news. Good luck! Heal fast and pain free! Send up some before and after pics to show off the new you.

MyKdsDad replied to sweet_thang0792's topic in Website Assistance & Suggestions
OK, if you have it created, copy all of the code and paste it to your signature, under the USER CP heading at the top of this page. Be sure to save it or update it or whatever it says at the bottom of that page.....I believe that should get it done. -

Judy, what do you think of Dr. J? You will probably see him one more time and from then on, you'll be seeing Arlene. Keeping in mind that she is a banded person, herself. (skinny little b....uh....beauty??? lol) All kidding aside, she is great. Ask her if she has gotten that motorcycle yet.... -
OK, I'm tired of all the wet, cold, nasty crap we call weather around here. The Harley is sitting right there on the carport every time I go out the door, calling to me to fire it up and go for a ride. The heck with that, it's too dadgum cold. Come on warm weather....Maybe I'll ride to Sturgis this year....*sigh*

Glad that you got the pneumonia diagnosed and taken care of. Hate that you had to start your laplife with that. Don't push it too much about the liquids. You've got to heal. The weight loss will come later. My wife's first mushie was garlic mashed potatoes at Chili's. They also have a great baked potatoe soup, just have them cut the cheese and bacon bits.

Hi Penni, welcome to LBT. What ever questions you may have, ask away. Someone will answer you, sooner or later. Take some time and search the old posts for some of your subjects. You may find that most of your questions have already been answered.

Hi Ginger, welcome to the forum. As far as your first fill goes, it may not restrict you as much as you would expect. Depends on the size of your band. My wife had to go back 6 times before she got the right restriction. She has been banded one year, as of Dec 28th. She and I were both from the Houston area...a loooooooong time ago. She is from Pasadena and I lived on the Northwest side, inside 610. Right now, don't worry about losing weight, please.....just take this time to heal well. The losing will come later.

Hey Tracy, he sounds like a deal. Right up front with everything. Of course, he might have the bedside manner of a toad, too.... -
Before the holidays....way back before Thanksgiving....MsJoy was 256. Had been 256 since August. Not gaining, but then again, not losing either. But the holidays loomed just ahead and the demons of cookies, cakes and pies. And let me tell you, MsJoy's deep dish pecan pie is enough to make you slap your mama. Shovel on a big ol' slab of Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla ice cream and I'm talkin' HEAVEN. Well, just yesterday, she went into the local doc's office and weighed............wait for it............255. Life is good!

Turner, my advice would be to heck with the 17th. Get thee to thy doctor ASAP. Could be that there are no problems whatsoever, but then again.....well, you just should NOT take any chances.
-
Lioness, you remind me of the woman at one of my wife's support group meetings. She couldn't understand why she wasn't losing. No, she hadn't had any fills, but from what she had heard, if she got a fill and had restriction, how was she going to be able to eat her cheeseburgers.....*sigh*
