In October, 2013 I had Gastric Sleeve surgery at a high weight of 254, after 6 months I was down to 190. Just a couple months later and ever since I lost the stricture feeling and was able to consume more food. I stayed away from all the things we aren't supposed to have i.e. pasta, rice, bread, sodas, sugar but the weight has continued to now I'm at 232. I didn't have problems with GERD before the sleeve but now I have more heartburn and when I had an EGD on 2/1 was told that my pouch was a moderate size though all biopsies were negative for barrett's esophagus, ulcers and h.pylori. I decided that if I don't make a change soon I'm going to be back where I started. I never had diabetes, but I did have high blood pressure which resolved after the sleeve. My family has diabetes, high blood pressure, joint pain (replacement) and I know if I don't control my weight I will have the same issues. The first surgery I got complacent and stopped coming to the forums but this time around I'm sticking to it because this is a lifelong battle. My first surgeon's appointment is 2/16 as I have a new one due to moving from Indiana to Florida in 2015. I've already contacted my insurance and a revision is covered however I have to jump through all the same hoops as before including a 3mo. nutrition counseling. Wish me luck.
