Hi Everyone! APRIL 2018: My name is Tasha - I am a retired educator with a great husband and sweet Boston terrier. I live in Goodyear, AZ. I had a lap band put in Nov. of 2016. Painful. Never worked. NO effect on appetite and could eat a huge steak if I wanted. It was ridiculous and always painful in the port area as well. Drained at hospital in August of 2017. Revision to RNY / Gastric Bypass 3-30-2018. Ready to meet my goals and start my new healthy life! No turning back! This was the only good choice for me. I have Hashimoto's Disease and severe Menopause. NO diet or program worked in the past 5 years. Bye-Bye to all of that! I am 2 weeks post op today, April 12, 2018 and I feel great. I spent two nights in the hospital. Surgery was long. Port area was trouble, but all turned out well. Bruising and swelling are going down and healing up quickly these past two weeks. Able to walk about 20 minutes with my dog now. Still listening to me body and taking naps everyday - lots of sleep. Was able to go off pain meds the 2nd day home and have just taken liquid Tylenol. The doctor moved me to mushy foods today. I have had no vomiting or nausea. I have been tracking all liquids, foods, and proteins. I look forward to gaining tips and insight from other forum members who are in the process or have gone through it. Being supported is a great feeling!
