October 2016-Surgery Date. Where are you now?

HI everyone, it was awesome reading all the current statuses keep up the great work. I was sleeved October 27, 2016 in Boston, Massachusetts 5'4 29 years old S/W 244 lbs C/W 194 lbs Down 50 lbs I've been @ a stall for about a month now. I try to get 1000 calories a day since I find my body feels at its best when I do. Water intake has been a problem since day one and still continues but working on it. My goal is another 40-50 lbs by my 1 years anniversary.

    3 1/2 month post op

Hello all, SW 245lbs CW 193 I am truly happy with my outcome so far although I've had complications with dehydration and becoming lactose sensitive I doing a lot better. I do have a question to those who have had the surgery, is anyone else experiencing migraines ? This is new to me considering I haven't had an headache since surgery on October 27, 2016 and now is going on 2 weeks with constant migraines. Any feed back would be nice. Thank you for taking the time to read my complaint.

    3 1/2 month post op

Honestly I can do better with my water intake I thought I was doing okay. Now that I'm thinking about it maybe it is a sign of dehydration..ty
  5. HI all so this is how i been feeling lately, about 2 1/2 months post op and so far I've had good and bad days but I'm finally doing better & it's what my body wants, although my nutritionist would like me to stay away from carbs I've figured out one small portion of carb a day keeps nausea and vomiting away. I like to have 1 plan slice of white toast or a small portion of boiled potato and for protein shredded chicken or cook shrimp sits well in my stomach. I'm not kicking myself in the ass for eating starchy food but glad I'm feeling better and no more vomiting. Gatorade is also my favorite for fluid intake. That's "post-op"

10 weeks post open & trying different foods

Definitely! I've notice the difference before and after surgery I don't do much of salt at all since surgery.

10 weeks post open & trying different foods

Yes my NUT did suggest adding a protein to my toast and or potato I've done that as well I also learned that burning sugar off is a lot easier than salt. For some reason my body doesn't do well with salt anymore period. Thanks for your response

    Feeling guilty I guess

Happy holidays all, i guess im posting just to get some feed back of my current situation sorry for the on going long post it's been a while I've log on......but here it goes between the 2 jobs during this busy Xmas season and 2 kids I feel as I haven't had a moment to my self and have been lacking in putting my health first. I'm officially 2 months post op sleeve, surgery was on October 27 2016 I basically can eat small portions of anything at this point but I'd rather stick to extremely some foods since that's what I handle best. I've also stayed way from starches unfortunately with Xmas eve and Xmas family dinners I've cheated with the starchy food I've lost 40lbd so far but for the last 2 weeks I've stayed at my current weight 204 and it makes me sad. I know starchy foods don't help but I've realized this past week I've been so busy I barley have time to take my multivitamins and calcium and honestly I can do a lot better with my water intake. I'm looking forward to a couple days off soon so I can cater to myself and get back on track of course in between of being a mommy to 2 beautiful girls but I guess my point is just to get some feed back and hoping I'm not alone. Happy holidays!

    Frustration

Hi everyone, I'm 24 days post op had the sleeve done. I've seen my doctor and nutritionist twice already and was sent for i.v fluids and nausea medication. These last few weeks have not been easy but I get it this is a complete life change but the reason why im so frustrated is because I've now become sensitive to lactose and can not tolerate any milk products and even worse my allergy to soy is more sensitive than ever... what im really hoping for is help or advice on food ideas. To be completely honest im just sick of only Greek yogurt, Crystal light, broths but thankfully I can now handle a very soft chicken and green beans. I can only still have tiny amonts of anything period couple sips of protein or water at a time and 2 or 3 bites of soft foods. My nutritionist also told me to stay away from pasta, crackers, potatoes and rice. If anyone can tell me what their eating or ideas of things I can try soy and milk free please and thanks. Good luck too all my fellow pre and post op friends

    Lovin my progress

Congrats on the weight loss so far, I also had a rough first couple weeks was even sent for a 2 hour i.v treatment Thursday and feeling a little better. Idk but my stomach aches when trying to consume just plan Water any temperature after a few steps but surprisingly if I add a couple squirts of crystal light (strawberry lemonade) I've increased my water intake but a whole 16oz bottle. my stomach is super picky I just have to continue the trial and error to figure out what she likes lol. Good luck

    Insurance question

I never had to contact my insurance between my surgeons office they basically did it for me after completing all requirements than I was sent sent an approval letter. You can also try to contact someone from masshealth online through their website
  20. my new beginning 2016

    Mass health?

They do cover the surgery but my doctor said approval had a lot to know with your diagnosis. Mass health also has requirements that need to be completed before your surgery can be scheduled, like 1-3 support meetings, a minimum weight drop and keeping all appointments those are a couple I know of. Frustration

I do 1 scrambled egg and it's perfect thank you for the ideas and positive feed back I can't do solids 100% I usually steam everything till its supper soft but I have tried lactose milk unfortunately I learned the hard way it does still contain lactose unreal lol my nutritionist said it does indeed still contain lactose just a very small amount so If I do drink "milk" it's almond milk it's hard to get used to after loving regular 1% milk most my life.Really?! I had no idea. Wow, that sucks. I'm so sorry... Tu hun That sounds yummy ty Ty Thanks for the ideas

Ty I have tried this but plan since most of everything contains soy and I can't do milk products

    Frustration

Btw on the tuna I just found a soy free one not in a can the ones that come in a bag I was told to use hummus instead of mayo since mayo contains soy I just don't know if hummus and tuna will sit well in my stomach. It's just so hard to find soy free products and food
