    Deserted.

I am sorry to hear you are having to explore other options. I considered it as well. I chose not to tell anyone other than my mom and my husband. It was incredibly scary to think about going through it alone. This may be a great opportunity to explore feelings with your spouse. My husband was supportive but scared. He does not struggle with weight, but loves me for me. Unfortunately, I have been over weight lost of our relationship. It is scary to support someone you love unconditionally to "change". My husband was also worried that I would have complications or worse die. The surgery and the process impacts all that you come in contact with...friends and family. Grace is a wonderful gift and can be given both directions. Best of luck. We are here for you!
  2. I am almost 5 months post op and am having extreme hair loss. All of my labs were normal. Any suggestions or rays of hope? This is new to me. I have incredibly thick hair and used to get it thinned out every 6 weeks just to put it in a pony tail. Now I can wrap the hair tie three times around my hair and my friends are noticing the thinning. I am on the verge of tears. Thanks for your help!
  3. I am 4 1/2 months post sleeve and have been using the vitamin patches. I LOVE them. My labs were drawn and all within normal limits. Totally recommend!

    Drinking

I have not. I am deciding to skip for at least 1 year. Working too hard to mess up now.

    2 months out

I use the Walden Farms catsup and BBQ sauce. It has zero everything. Not the same as the real deal but a good option when you need some "sauce"
  6. I have been dreading the holidays. I love all things carb. I have been sticking to the plan 100% and don't want to derail. I am making the turkey so I plan on weighing my turkey and having a raw veggie platter if I feel the need to "graze". A piece of cauliflower can last 5-10 minutes. I am considering making a protein pumpkin moose but am not sure. I feel like it is a slippery slope for me.

    Question about Post-Op Pain

I did not have any nausea and had a pain pump for the incisions. I felt great about day 3, just weak and tired. I work from home and was glad I took off a week. It took forever to eat/drink my meals and walk. I would do it over again in a heart beat! Totally worth it.
  8. I have lost about 80 pounds and people are just now noticing. My pants still fit that I wore pre surgery. The problem is that they were tight then and really baggy now. I know I forget how tight they were. I went and tried on clothes and found I could wear smaller sizes. I also started setting non scale victories. I am able to walk a mile in 14 minutes. You are doing great! 50 pounds is amazing!!!

    Keto

I am 3 months out and posed a similar question on here. I have used some Keto recipes but I am watching the fat. I have a meeting with my nutritionist to ask about the best break down in terms of % of protein, carbs and fat. I think it will be individual and best to talk with your RD. Best luck!

    Undecided on Surgery

You have to be at peace with your decision. I wanted to lose 100 pounds and have not looked back. There are days when I am kind hungry and wish I could eat.... but being overweight was not a happy place for me. I knew this was my last option. I had given dieting 100% and it was never enough. You are the only one who knows if this is the right choice. I wish I would have done this sooner!

    Stall or Not ?!

I am almost 2 months out and have been having stalls. I called my doctors office and was told it is normal and some plateaus may last 2-3 weeks. I was told to continue to eat 5-6 times a day, hit my protein goal, hit my water intake and walk/exercise at least 40 minutes a day. Hope this helps.
  12. One of the blessings of the sleeve is that I am not hungry....ever. I am almost 2 months out and recognize I have mental hunger; craving of junk food or finding myself with the fridge open for no reason. The down side to this is I am feeling food aversions. I no longer can eat any canned meat(tuna or chicken) without feeling sick. It is not my sleeve but repulsion towards food. But by bit my list of approved foods is dwindling. Did anyone else feel this way and how did you get your protein in and how did you overcome it? I really don't want to be malnourished.
  13. My surgeon recommends the patches. I wear the multi-vitamin one. Have not had my blood work done yet. I love the patches. I forget to take pills, but I put the patch on daily.

    How are people losing 10lbs/month?!

Keep a good and water journal. Measure your food, don't guess. I was worried about the calories and my RD told me to focus on the protein first. I am 5 weeks post sleeve and am struggling to get in all the protein I need due to the restriction but am eating around 500 calories a day.so far I am down 27 pounds. It is individual. I am journaling my non weight victories. I am wearing my wedding band for the first time in 10 years.

    5 days out Incision hurting

Thank you gotime0810. Part of me is waiting for the failure to kick in and the other part is telling me things are fine. The head game is the worst. I want to be 100% perfect. This has to work and I don't want to mess it up. I always hear it is individual but I want hard data and info. Thank you for your support.
