  1. I liked her right away but I still called the hospital for her surgery stats. Then I trusted her
  2. Well...maybe for you but it's unreasonable to make a blanket statement like this. I was on morphine for 24 hours post op because I woke up from surgery literally screaming from pain. BWT I gave birth to a full term breech baby without any medication as I am hardly a pain light weight.
  3. not even close. I am 13 days out and still have a bit of incision pain. I found that wearing a compression top 24/7 worked far better that narcotic pain meds by day 4.
  4. All pain medication has the potential for addiction if you abuse it including tramadol. On the other hand...Pain control is essential for healing. Take the pain meds at the dose that relieves your pain and taper down as the pain subsidence likely this will be a week or two at the most. Remember to take a stool softener daily as long as you are on them. You aren't going to become junkie taking short term post operative medication.

We should start a "weight once a week" movement!

    Pregnancy after 40 and sleeved

A 20% weight loss will kick start ovulation. I was a public health ob nurse and saw this all the time. And a had our last kid when I was 46... yep, right after working my butt off to loose 80 pounds. So now I am 62 with a 40 year old AND a 16 year old.
  7. Do you let them desolve or do you chew them? They are hard and dry and bumpy going downso it's best to let them desolve. It takes me 10 minutes to eat one. They should also not be taken all at the same time. You can only absorbed about 500mg of Calcium at a time. Hope this helps.
  8. You need to discuss this with your surgeon.
  9. Sorry. This is bad advice. Aside from the eating disorder issue chewing food and spitting it out and gum chewing is not good for you. Simply put, when you chew your stomach starts making acid to prepare for digestion. No food comes but the acid is there.

    Fruits and Veggies?

You a r e adding calories so your weight loss will slow unless you choose low calorie options like cauliflower, carrots, squash.
  11. I woke up from surgery hungry. The 4th post op day was the worse it's better every day but yea, I'm hungry. Are you eating solid (mushy) food? My surgeon said to expect feeling hungry until there is food staying in my (tiny) stomach. I try to keep busy, it helps.
  12. Yes, normal. Did you get guard meds to take. I got them for six weeks though I have never had reflux before. . I get a strong reminder to take them if I forget!

    Desperate times

At two weeks the Protein and calorie free Fluid "diet" is really the only option. You are probably getting less than 1000 calories a day and that's if your mixing your protein with whole milk. Do not cut back on protein. You need it to heal now and for your hair, skin and nails forever. I gained 7 pounds of Water in hospital and I went in very well hydrated. I know it's hard to believe but you are loosing FAT no matter what the scale says. I am pretty crappy at pep talks but I'm giving this one all I've got. I'm 62 years old and I've been down this road... well, when it comes to dieting. I've been down most roads... trust me and PLEASE stop weighing yourself donate your scale to goodwill or, at least, cut back to weighing once a week NAKED first thing in the morning.
  14. Peach syrup or some pectin in a bit of fruit juice. Just a few spoons full. Seriously.

    Ate alot

Actually of all the choices at Wendy's the chili it the best. Chili is on my allowed list even on puree. Even canned.

    Poop

A poop thread! Surgery was 10/25 and I had loose stools pre op and a fast the day before... it (poop) happened today . I'm a nurse married to a doctor so we have seen and hear about plenty of poops over the years. My premier post sleeve poop sounded like I was dropping rockets into the bowl and looked like Progresso Italian wedding Soup with extra meatballs. I feel SO SO SO much better now! Thanks for letting me share!
  20. I made dinner. I am still on liquids and I wasn't easy without tasting. We use a meal service (green chief) so I just had to do minor prep but it was hard. I can't imagine having to cook from scratch or feed a family. I did remember to choose meals that I wasn't crazy about and three of them (gobble) are one pan meals. I think my husband Orson will be making their own food till I tolerate puree. Funny. I am such a foodie that I want to describe the meal. That's so messed up.
  21. I was a bit put off about the 6 month wait my insurance imposes but I am glad that I had that time really THINK and prepare for this lifelong commitment. At the very first class a guy doing the pre op requirements and who's wife had already had the surgery explained, in detail, how she "cheated"on "special occasions" . Pissed me off at first but in the long run I learned so much from listening to him. I don't want to be THAT person. I also took a 6 month weekly class called "live it". In the end, between the pre op class and the lifestyle class i came into this with my eyes wide opened.
  22. I add cucumber and mint to my Water. I make a batch at bedtime for the next day. Yesterday I added a slice of fresh pineapple. Carbonation of any kind is the ONLY thing on my not allowed ever list. No honey, not even small batch craft beers....
  23. I like the disolvable vitamins. Also calcium. The only thing I added was liposomal vit c it's a capsule with paste inside I cut it in half

Constipation, menstruation, ovulation too much salt... if you are one your plan you didn't actually gain FAT. I would go out of my mind if I weighed myself every day but just to make sure my husband moved the scale to our kids bathroom (all boys) . It's a level one biohazard, I only go in there to drop off grooming supplies and TP on the counter and take a deep breath first. If you don't happen to have a level one biohazard area in your house consider giving your scale to goodwill or at least locking it into the trunk of your car.
  25. You need to discuss your problem with your surgeon or GP. Please don't put it off.
