I use the unflavored Protein powder to boost the protein in my deals. 1/2 scoop is 10 grams. I made carrot coconut curry Soup (thick puree) and put it into 5oz into containers. I used mansion jars I microwave soup for 2 minutes and dump into a bowl then add 2oz of cashew milk into the hot container and stir in a scoop of powder till smooth. This warms up the milk and protein a bit so it doesn't curdle when you stir it into the soup. It's tasty and has 20 grams of protein (25 if you make the soup with cow milk) great for lunch at work. I make a batch of soup every few days keep 2 in the fridge and freeze 4 for later.

My surgeon expects my sleeve volume to be a bit over 6 oz. I think that's larger that some. Apparently I have a long stomach, so now I have a long banana. We have chickens, they are mostly off laying for the winter, but we got two yesterday so my egg was VERY fresh.

800 calories. Low low fat, little carbs and 90gr of Protein a day. Use shakes. And drink 64 oz of Water. You will be hungry. If you are obese you can loose 8 pounds in 2 weeks. If you can't do it maybe you should use the extra time to work on your food issues with a nutritionist and or psychologist.

Is my goal weight achievable?
Aggiemae replied to canadian_girl's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I agree with both posters but wanted to add that I chose the sleeve because it maintains normal anatomy. In fact I backed out of getting a lap band several years ago because I was worried about a foreign object because of a preexisting autoimmunity problem and seeing how many people are having them revised I am glad I waited. I am not sure the vertical sleeve was an option, I was offered an RNY . Maybe I had other more pressing medical problems. -

On the other hand your family member is having major surgery without proper education or preparation. Wait a year and see which one of you is more successful. -
Taste Buds/Sense of Smell Change After Weight Loss Surgery
Aggiemae commented on joatsaint's blog entry in Gastric Sleeve Surgery - An Unexpected Journey
Anything that can be done about it. My house smells like an animal shelter to me though two friends have assured me that it's just the usual...for a hose with three dogs. I tried room spray, spent 20 minutes with dry heaves. -
not tolerating protein shakes
Aggiemae replied to trinalily's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I use the unflavored powder. Borderless, tasteless. 21gr of protein. I have unjury (I buy the canisters it's lots cheaper than the packets) but there are other brands. -
I like unjury powder. I mostly use the unflavored. One scoop in 8 oz 1% milk is 28grams of protein. The after taste of the premised shakes, especially the premier, makes me gag. I can handle Muscle Milk. Don't love it but you can find it just about anywhere.

My husband doesn't know my weight...at all
Aggiemae replied to creatingthenewme's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have never once in 38 years told my husband my weight. I weighed 125lbs when we got married but my weight has always been a touchy subject. He doesn't asks and he gets to stay married to me. It's a good deal both ways. -
Percentage of fat in diet, a concern?
Aggiemae replied to The New Kel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Also, I don't know why people persist in calling it a "stall", I prefer to think of it as a physiological adjustment period. You're still loosing fat no matter what the scale says. -
Percentage of fat in diet, a concern?
Aggiemae replied to The New Kel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My diet plan doesn't restrict fat but I try choose the lower fat options, just started mushy, so1-2% fat dairy, lean meat and fish. You do need fat in your diet. You didn't ask but you're protein seems low. I'm on 90grams based on my current weight. It drops as the weight drops but.the lowest recommended on my diet is 60 grams of protein a day. -
FMLA approve me... but my job said no due to staffing.
Aggiemae replied to lavette43's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Your employer can't do that. Why is it that hospitals are the worse offenders when their employees need medical leave? -
My breasts are very dense so they can't see image the sides. Our clinic does ultrasounds. Ask for one. I don't think the cost is different.

birth control after surgery and while losing weight?
Aggiemae replied to desreynolds80's topic in The Gals' Room
Birth control is ESSENTIAL when you are looking weight. A 20% weight losses can trigger ovulation in most women. Case in point ? Me. I got pregnant at 46 (yes, fourth SIX) after working my butt of to loose 80 pounds. So mow I'm 62 with a 16 year old. If you want to become pregnant be sure you are taking folic acid to prevent neural tube defects. -

Psych eval tomorrow! Scared.
Aggiemae replied to evagria_the_faithful's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There is no "fail". The point is to see where your are now and get you to a place where you will succeed. From some of the posts I've read here I think a psych eval should be required by law. -

Thanksgiving time.. input please.
Aggiemae replied to show1980's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The eating holidays are upon us. I and 13 days post op and still on thick liquids figure that by thanksgiving I should be able to have mushy food according to my recommended food list I can have 3-4 oz of food 3/4 of that being protein... You should tAke your scale or measuring cups. And, yes your family will probably notice,be polite, tell them your following does orders. Don't get involved in the "one piece won't hurt you" game. -
How Did You Choose Your Surgeon?
Aggiemae replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
The hospital has a bariatric clinic that handles the pre op phase but I could choose any surgeon. Portland is a big city There are two practices and probably 10 surgeons to choose from on our oinsurance. The first one I interviewed was a bad fit for me , the scoundrels one didn't make eye contact... so asked the clinic psychologist and nutritionist who knew me pretty well since I was taking a weekly "lifestyle class" in additional to the normal pre op who they thought I would like. She was awesome.
