    Protein Power

Yes and if you mix it with 8 oz of liquid it doesn't make thing thick either. I put a scoop into 8 oz of 1% milk when my protein count is low towards the end of the day for 29 grams of protein in a small volume.

    Start purée on Wed

I am 4 weeks out and it took a while to eat more than a few bites of puree. I like 1/2 cup of carrots or cauliflower 1oz of milk (I use cashew but unsweetened coconut is a nice change) and 1/2 scoop of unflavored Protein powder. tuna and cottage cheese, I tablespoon of cream soup and 2oz of chicken, oatmeal 1/2 scoop Protein Powder and 2oz 1% milk. Instructions vary so check your diet sheet for allowed foods.

    HAPPY HEALTHY HOLIDAYS CHALLENGE!

Im still in the hospital but finally got off IV fluids today so will weigh on Friday this week.
  5. So only healthy foods caused problems? Interesting.
  6. I'd move to the UK in a hot minute to get free plastic surgery!
  7. On thing I already did was get a new "skinny person" car. I was going to wait till spring but my 2001 PT cruiser committed suicide. I got a Mini Cppper, and not one of those larger ones made for the American market. I'm 64 and this might be the last car I ever buy..ot tso I got the "fancy pants" options package. Chrome, leather, leather, heated seats, satellite radio.... I couldn't fit in the seat with the arm rest down until 2 weeks after my surgery. I am still trapped in the hospital with this facial palsy and lymes disease thing but I think I will probably be able to raise the seat when I get out (it's a low as it can go right now) because I am definitely losing butt fat!

    My work here is done

well...good to know your panties are comfortable but I wasn't referring to you at all. I was referring to my stalker, I have my own products blend and have no use for people who spend their time spewing ignorance anger and misery so I blocked her but I can see she still feels compelled to put in her less than fully informed OPINIONS.

    No longer answering these questions:

I still go to OA. It's very helpful.

    My work here is done

I don't have any issues with people being eligible for medicate. I think EVERYONE is entitled to EQUAL access to medical care. And, of course, not everyone on medicade is demanding or impatient. And some of that is even understandable with uninformed or undereducated consumers. For example, it's a fact that emergency rooms are over burdened by people using them as primary care clinics. The biggest abusers are those who done have a co pay. If you don't do this I applaud you. But don't get your panties in a bunch that I have issues whit the people who do. Oh yea, my experience is completely different that yours so DON'T JUDGE ME.

I agree. I have pretty good I insurance but I never go to the emergency dept for a cold (or head lice! ) I sure don't ream out the ED doc because "last week the other doctor gave me oxytocin for my hurt food and now you want me to take Motrin?" The majority of my noncompliance case managed patient are on Medicare. They know everything about everything and they sure don't need my advice, unless it means they will get more pain medication...I want to add that this kind of entitlement is a cultural phenomena. It's about maintaining control. So it's strongest in uneducated families who have lived in poverty of generations. Wow! Judge much? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App No judgement. I've been an end case manager for 35 years, just posting exactly what I've seen. Please feel free to block me if my truth is so disturbing too you.
  14. I make it with unjury but I like it darker and less sweet so I add a tea spoon of unsweetened coco powder to 1% milk (if I need to get in the 8 grams of extra protein) or unsweetened cashew milk (only 25 calories). I heat 6 oz of milk and a tea spoon of coco powder to 140. (I have a thermometer) I stir 1/2 scoop of powder in remaining 2oz of warm milk and stir it together. Yum.

    scared...smoker and craving

You can't vape nicotine for a month before surgery or during the 6-8 week surgical recovery period. No gum or Patches or nasal sprays either. You can use ZYBAN.(wellbutrine) Many doctors do a test to see of you have nicotine or marijuana in your system. The clinic I went to cancels your surgery and sends you home. http://www.yourbariatricsurgeryguide.com/smoking-cessation/ https://health.clevelandclinic.org/2013/08/facing-surgery-kick-cigarettes-now/ http://www.bariatric-surgery-source.com/nicotine-test-before-weight-loss-surgery.html
  17. Unless they are bought in by the original surgeon to consult surgeons seldom touch another surgeons work, the liability it too high. They would lose their malpractice insurance. When you see a surgeon for a second opinion you have to sign all sorts of agreements A few years ago our contractor was arrested ( ended up getting 30 years in prison for child abuse, his wife got 24 years) a theory for another time and another thread. He was a good carpenter who did excellent work but the day the police came for him the central chimney was halfway knocked out, all the siding was off one side of out house and five of the seven Windows where completely out and the only the studs and framing where done on the 2nd floor dormer. We had paid $35,000 of the $50,000 total and they probably spent close to $35,000 on salaries and building supplies. We had to hire other contractors to finish and everyone of then insisted on partially deconstructing the house to inspect it before they would work on it. We ended up suspending $85,000 for $40,000 in improvements. Doctors have a lot more invested in their careers they don't take risks. As for the OP, I am hoping that Runaround Sue will research her options and realize she has the tool and doesn't need a revision.

Sip tiny amounts and try room temperature water for a few days.

    Lacking motivation

Good support groups are hard to come by... during the first one I attended a guy who jus got his sleeve explained to the group that if he wants to eat after he is full he just drinks some Water to wash the food down. His wife, who had the surgery last year "taught" him this and he was nice enough to share with the group. Well...now I know why so many people regain their weight. I called his BS and left before the woman running the group got a chance to ask me too. The NUTS in my surgeons office know it was me when they heard about the incident! I have had group counseling for food addiction and that was very helpful. And I still go to OA (overeaters anonymous) one a week and find that helpful as well.

    Need Sizing Help

Can you get two and return the one you don't wear? Or put your fitting off till August?

    Lacking motivation

The thing that keeps me on track is keeping a food log. I record every bite of food and all liquids. I chose low calorie carbs but even if I didn't I doubt I would get much above 1000 calories a day. I do add a serving or two of fat (today I had 1/2 of an avocado and 4oz of 2% cottage cheese) I add it up at the end of the day to make sure I got my 90 gr/64oz. I have two Protein shakes a day (unjury unflavored, cashew milk as a base) and don't count the shakes as hydration any more since I can usually get in enough clear calorie free liquids in every day now. I seem to lose more weight on days I get in all the protein.

    Intense back pain

Try a compression top. It really helped with my post op incision pain. They sell them at Target and Lane Bryant and more expensive ones are available at medical supply stores.
