  1. Normal. That's the hole they pulled your stomach out of. Try putting some compression on it, I used a compress tank top but high waisted spanx or even tightly wrapping you abdomen with a large towel. It really helped me.

  3. I think in this case the poster is just angry and insecure. I grew up in Manhattan so know better than too make eye contact so and regret regret engaging I noticed today that there are several posters who seem to travel in packs and post their agreements and "likes"

    Post-op diet stock up

Naah, I'm more of a chips and guac girl myself. It's cool to eat those one week out, right? I ate them first day out, while still in the hospital, and I've lost like 856 pounds in 3 months, so you'll be just fine. Good luck! Experiment away and post here so everyone will know how the vets have no idea what they're talking about, as well as the doctors and nutritionists. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using the BariatricPal App I noticed I lost weight faster if I has a few beers with my nachos. But I could be that I can't read the scale because I can't find my glasses. Does anyone know where to buy sour gummy worms in bulk?

    Baby Spoons

Don't waste money on baby food, but if you don't have a nutra bullet or blender a hand cranked baby food grinder would he helpful. I made veggies in 1 pound batches and decided then into 4 oz mansion jelly jars and froze them. I also made hardy soups the same way I thinned then with chicken broth when I was on liquids and ate them thick later. My NUT said to avoid canned cream and milk based soups as they are hard ghost n carbs.

    Alcohol

It's all well and good that some people decide to ignore their doctors orders and their post surgery diet prescription but it's not useful or helpful to post your experience when someone who describes themselves as a "big drinker" says they are CRAVING and is needing support to NOT drink so soon after surgery. @@Bulldog51, Is marijuana legal in your state? You should not smoke it but you can eat it or use tincture. It isn't the same as alcohol but it will blunt your cravings I'm not a big drinker but with holiday parties I'd like a drink as much as anyone but I weighed the immediate risk to my health against a 30 minute buzz.

Oregonians don't do well in Texas despite our mutual love of firearms and beer.

    Being cold is getting old!

Oregonians don't do well in Texas despite ve of fire arms and beer. I've haven't lost much weight but I am always cold except when I am having a hot flash. My husband says it's like living with two different women. And I want to add that I just got a new tablet and if I hadn't proof read this you all would be reading "i haven't lost many children but". I can't figure how to turn the auto correct and swear word "adjuster" off yet....
  9. Mine took just 24 hours, even the surgeon was surprised. It's hard to get a surgery appointment in December because so many people, including me, have met their deductible and are trying to squeeze in a freebie before the end o the year. By March you should get in pretty quick. Good luck.
  10. Majorities? Major foodies. Damn elf correct!
  11. I started this process once 10 years ago and lost so much weight during the pre op period that I didn't go through with it. I am great at diets, my problem has always been maintenance. This time my pre prep was extensive. Also I'm in my mind 60s and losing weight, even on 1200 calories a day had become impossibly slow and tedious. I've lost 23 pounds and I am already able to walk over a mile and at the risk of TMI, I have already lost enough abdominal weight to stop peeing in my pants. My husband and I are majorities. And other that my current preference for soft food and the fact that eating g out costs half as much it really hasn't effected our social life. The refrigerator is another story as the main cook learns not to cook meals for four when Nell two people eat more than 3 oz of food. The first 10 weeks are restrictive but so far I've put it into perspective. Keep in touch.
  12. I like the Injury protine powder I used a lot more the first two weeks then I expected and had to rorder. Be aware they take longer that expected to ship. Ten days with my first order and 12 with the second. It's the brand my surgeon recommended and my NUT says this is typical. Just something good to know. Also it helped me to get in the habit of always having a shake and a drink with you when you leave the house.

    Hair Issues

I don't have advice but my hair is falling out to the pinot that I can see my shinny scalp. Was already taking the Vitamins and using Rogaine. Ordered some of those Fiber sprinkles on Amazon today. Sigh. Elisa5150, thanks for the reminder. The Aveda products have clay in them and are very good, I used them last time my hair fell out by handful...

    Baby Spoons

I got some at the dollar store that didn't have the rubber coating. Also a 4 pack of 4 oz containers and a pack 24 of tiny disposable espresso spoons. I keep a spoon, single portion condiments and Crystal light a container in my purse.

    Pet peeve: extra skin.

Around the world 18,000 children died of STARVATION in the past hour the past hour and 21,000 children died of PREVENTABLE illness in past 24 hours. Meanwhile he r e on Bariatric Pals an endless parade of precious millennial snowflakes (and their rock puppets spend the whole day "debating" this nonsense. Maybe it's time to start a Minnesota's only thread where you all can compete to see who is the biggest and best snowflake oall.f
  16. It's true that many people do regain weight and chose to have a revision but it was not the surgery that "failed". But let's leave that issue aside for now. Your best chance of long term success is making sure that you go into the surgery educated and prepared . Take the classes at the bariatric center and consider taking a "lifestyle" class as well. I did and the 6 months I spent working on my food issues and learning new skills, like chewing and actually tasting my food, drinking Water, and even just using small dishes, it was the best thing I could have done. I didn't ask him what he thought before I started the process (I have never asked "permission" to do anything in 40 years of marriage). My husband was supportive of the idea of surgery but have been a basket cast since I had it. Let your husband know that you want and need his support but did nth let his opinion determine what you decide to do. No one asked this yet but is your husband also overweight?

  19. yeh i really dont know thats why i wrote this thread. yeh i have no idea i have have stuck to my surgeons advice. so not sure why iv gained 2lbs Sent from my SM-G935F using the BariatricPal App Sorry. When I read my comment I realized it sounded rude. I apologize. Have you tried staying off the scale? Unless I go to a doctors appointment I only weigh once a week. It really helps me keep my sanity. A little over a weeks go, while eating about 600 calories a day, I gained 11pounds due to medication and IV Fluid. I knew what was happening but it still pissed me off! Unflavored Protein question

I use a blender and mix one scoop Protein powder with a cup of ice and 4 oz of raw juice. Usually make my own juice and add kale or spinach to the fruit to reduce the overall carbs. But these days most grocery stores have a good selection of raw juice. It can be pricey but it freezes well so you can stock up when it's on sale. Sometimes, if the fruit is tart, I sweeten it with stevia. I also like it mixed with 8oz of 1% milk (200 calories,29 grams of protein total) I like this on days that my protein is low at the end of the day. But usually I prefer the zero carb version-8oz of unsweetened cashew milk (125 calories 21 grams of protein total). I can't taste the unflavored protein if I use one scoop in 8oz of liquid. Popcorn

Pop corn is on my allowed list. I had it ONCE and knew not to eat the partly popped kernels. Bottom line? Everyone should Follow the prescribed diet they were given by their surgeon. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  22. ImDeb, sorry I didn't realize that you have the corner on rudeness . I've been an advance practice nurse a patient advocate and high risk case manager for over 30 years. Amazing how your reinterpretation of information you found on the HIA website fits so perfectly with your agenda. And what is the deal with you and @realscoobydoo? Weird how one of you posts and the other is there to chime in. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Christina.Rose, first thing to do is work on you interpersonal skills. Then please feel free to block anyone who has an opinion or experience that differs from yours because despite (or more likely because of) your youth you already know everything. Make sure to insult them first, so you can make a lasting impression. IMO anyone who has major surgery for non health reasons probably went the self pay root or slipped through the psychological evaluation. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
