Now 5 mos out (pics show 3 mos progress) a little smaller now.

Started out at 138 lost 10 lbs during preop phase. Weighed 227 day of surgery and now weigh 173 lbs. Lost 54 lBS since surgery on November 17th. My last progress pic was about 2 months ago so I'm a little smaller now. My kids are very proud of me and my daughter (15 yrs old) has been a little inspired and is also trying to eat healthier as she is like me with slower metabolism and gains weight easily, while my husband and son(18yrs old) can eat anything and remain skinny. My husband still buys me chocolates and my son throws them away and reminds him of how far I've come. They try to be as supportive as possible, I'm lucky in that aspect. My happiest moment was being in old navy with my son trying on a size 14 and after being an 18/20 and the 14 was too big so my son suggested a size 12. I was nervous and after trying them on and showing my son he asked me if I was crying. It was an emotional moment for me. My weight loss has been slow as I hit a stall for several weeks now but im trying not to lose moral and take it one day at a time and look at the positive rather than the negative. Any advice on this stall is so welcome -

Weight loss at 4 Months
Ali_4712 replied to mylastchance21's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
This was so helpful and encouraging. I am 5 months out and down 54 lbs. I was feeling really discouraged. Especially after seeing my surgeon and being told to go vegan to which my nutritionist responded he was crazy. I am at a stall for about 3 weeks now and was losing hope. -
I've had cravings for combos and I did have a few. I am definitely not doing that again I felt so guilty after. Either way it is comforting to have people outside of home I can relate to and get back on track... Sent from my SM-T550 using the BariatricPal App

I check ever day as well, it's a bad habit. I really need to put mine away. I recently hit a stall and it's even more frustrating. Sent from my SM-T550 using the BariatricPal App

Almost 2 weeks post op and feeling nauseous and vomiting for 2 days now. My protein shakes make me feel even worse. Called my surgeon today and was told to go to the ER...

I'm going through the same thing, I can't keep anything down, I'm weak and my protein shakes make me even more nauseous... My surgeons office suggested I go to their ER today to get fluids through IV.
-
At the hospital now, so nervous I could not sleep, woke up with a headache and a bad stomach from the nerves...
-
Everything went well, thanks everyone! Just trying to make sure I get enough liquids at this point day 4 post op and so far I could only stomach a protein shake this morning, water makes me nauseous, going to try some chicken broth...
-
I am 3 days post op. I don't miss the food and I am struggling to even drink the protein and liquids. I feel bloated and hope to feel comfortable at some point, I don't want to end up in the hospital dehydrated.

Thank you so much for the advice, definitley appreciate it. Did you by any chance take any antiacid? My discharge paperwork said I should've received a prescription but I never got one.

Anyone in NJ have WellCare ins?
Ali_4712 replied to mari90's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have NJ Horizon I started everything in July and I am scheduled for surgery on 11/17. I know it's a different insurance but in the end it's about getting the clearances required by the insurance. I had to get Cardio, pulmonary, Gastro, psych and pcp clearance. Ask what type of clearances are required and go from there... Sent from my SM-N920T using the BariatricPal App -
I have been lately, yeah. I was really worried that I'd have loose skin (aka bat wings) so I've been concentrating on upper body lifting and I'm quite pleased with the results. I do have some damage, don't get me wrong, (especially when I bend over, you can see the loose wrinkly skin a bit) but overall I'm happy and proud of what I've accomplished Thank you for the nice compliment! I am going to continue on working on toning up more and maybe even lose a few more pounds I think the hard part now is maintaining! Eeekkkk! LOL Sent from my SM-G920W8 using the BariatricPal App Thanks for sharing, I'm scheduled for my sleeve on 11/17 (fingers crossed) and one of my worries was the excess skin many have spoken about apart from other things people have spoken about online, like the strain on relationships afterwords. Some of the surgeons on realself.com stated that excess skin was inevitable and I don't forsee being able to afford a body lift. I am 235 lbs and hopefully with hard work and exercise it won't be too bad. I think the pros of a potentially healthier life outweigh the negatives... Thanks again.
