I'm not as far out as you, I'm only 5 weeks post op but you sound like I feel!! I only get 1-2 teaspoons of bolognaise or fish pie and I get that feeling, sometimes it takes an hour an half for it to pass and it really really really hurts!! So I go back to mushy food for a day and then try again, generally the same thing happens so I guess i just need to be patient and listen to my body and keep trying!. Good luck Erica I hope this passes soon for you x

Im also 5 weeks post op and have lost 20 lb, I was also a bit discouraged until my husband reminded me I lost 19 lb in 2 weeks with my pre op diet, so 39 lb in 7 weeks is pretty good. I had a 2 and a half week stall then I lost 5 lb this week so I'm glad the stall has broken. Everyone's weight loss is different so I guess we shouldn't really compare but should focus on the long term goal to be healthy. Good luck on your journey ssbthodge x

Wow you look amazing and are a true inspiration, I'm 4 weeks post op and know I have a long journey ahead but I know I will do it. Congratulations on your success x
-
I stalled at 2 weeks post op after losing 16 lb, I've broken the stall today (hopefully) at 4 weeks post op by losing 3 lb since yesterday. You do feel like your never going to lose weight again but be patient it will break!!!

Eating for the first time post-op
#fitnotfat replied to tbrickchanging's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi tbrickchanging we are allowed to eat chicken also in the first 4 weeks, I ate it first blended with a little gravy and it was fine then about 4 days later I had it blended on its own and I had the same sensations as you so checked in my notes and it says to sip water to help it pass through, I did this but ended bringing the chicken back up and felt much better afterwards, it's a big learning curve and everyone is different but I feel your pain!!! -

3 days out, remorseful, worried and depressed
#fitnotfat replied to Jamesarwin's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Aw James I know exactly how you feel, I suffered with serious depression and am still on antidepressants but not half as bad as I was, I had a few bad reactions to blood pressure meds and an allergic reaction, I was in hospital for 4 days, had a bit of a lift the day I came home but then I couldn't sleep properly for another week, definitely after my sleep got better my mood picked up so it was probably 2 weeks post op, I've still had a couple of bad days when I've been bringing up my food but in general I feel sooooo much better and I'm looking forward to enjoying this change to my life. Hang in there it does get better x -
3 days out, remorseful, worried and depressed
#fitnotfat replied to Jamesarwin's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi James you sound like I felt 3 weeks ago, I regretted having surgery and felt down and remorseful but honestly give it a few days and you will start to feel better I promise, my dad said to me the day after surgery " in 2 weeks you will look back on this nightmare and be thankful you did it", he was right, so keep going you are doing amazing and everything will fall into place. Big hugs coz you will need them xx -
We are allowed blended soup in the first 4 weeks post op and if you blend properly it goes down fine, I only have about 4 tablespoons at a time but your right Julie Norton you do have to be careful.

Hi vee.. you use a bag of split red lentils boil them for 10 mind taking starch of the top as they cook, then add about 8 carrots grated and 4 onions roughly chopped, boil for another 10 mind keep mixing as it sticks to bottom of pan, then add 2 peeled potatoes chopped up small so as to cook quick also add about 2 tablespoons of veg bouillon or to taste then cook till potatoes chunks are soft, when cooked blitz with a hand blender, this makes about a pressure cooker full of soup mmmmm I could eat this now, hope you give it a try and enjoy it! Xx

I made red lentil, carrot, onion, small potatoes and bouillon soup it tastes awesome and I have it every day I love it that much!

Anyone struggling with liquid/stage 1 diet?
#fitnotfat replied to dreamangel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was the same, I'm now 3 weeks post op and I added sugar free squash in really early to my water and that's how I get a good fluid intake. I went off all tinned soup so made my own lentil and carrots soup and added lots of bouillon for flavour so that's done my lunches for the past 2 weeks and is lovely. It's just trial and error for the first few weeks to try find foods that you enjoy and that go down easy. Good luck! -
How soon after gastric bypass surgery can I lie down flat in bed to sleep?
#fitnotfat replied to dreamangel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I lay on my side with a pillow under my belly to support it, did this at about 2 weeks but I know others have done this earlier. Hope you get some sleep!!! -

UK sleevers......which protein?
#fitnotfat replied to mamabear87's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have mine in 2 days, most UK surgeons don't do shakes! It's clear fluids and then mushy then solid, they want us on solid asap because the hunger pangs go and you stay fuller than with a Protein drink. There may be some surgeon s out there that do shakes but not mine. Hope all goes well for you. Sent from my B3-A20 using the BariatricPal App -

So happy just had a call from hospital asking if I want my surgery on 4th of January!!! I'm having it done on the NHS and I've already been with them for a year, had my pre op last week and was told it would be a further 3 months to surgery. Super excited now to have it in less than 3 weeks!!! Anyone else having theirs around same time as me? Sent from my B3-A20 using the BariatricPal App

Hi lynda1945. I take about 20 pills a day and I'm getting the bypass, they have said there is no problem taking the pills after the first 3 months so I think keep your options open and speak with your surgeon, good luck ???? Sent from my B3-A20 using the BariatricPal App
