The first time I heard about lap-band surgery is when my roommate in college was preparing for it. I honestly thought that it would never be an option for me and I always figured that one day I would just lose the weight. That day never came, I would constantly put it off and say next month, next week, or next year and I would see myself being trapped in the same down-ward spiral. All through highschool I've maintained my weight around 210-230. My highest weight in high school was 233 and I thought I was huge then. After highschool and after 2 years in college I ended up going all the way up to 277. I stopped weighing myself then. I did not care to see the scale since I knew it would only make me feel worse. I noticed that I would never wear jeans anymore and I always wanted to stay in the house. My life consisted of going to school and coming back and doing nothing. I wore sweats or scrubs to school and I did not care about anyone or anything. My favorite jeans that I always wore were a size 20, I remember trying them on and crying because they did not fit whatsoever. I'm happy to report that those days are over. Well, almost over. I am now 50lbs lighter. I currently weigh 227 and I could not be happier. I've lost 50lbs on my own with just dieting and exercising but I know the lap-band will help me reach my goal of 120. I can only imagine how life will be at 120, since now at around 220 I feel amazing. I am currently a size 16 in pants and those favorite size 20 jeans? I can practically swim in them. I recommend the lap-band for anyone who's ready to change their life around and anyone who has 100+lbs to lose. I've already been banded on August 24th, 2009. I hope all of you can watch me on my journey to become 120 and I also hope that this motivates you to change your life and become a healthier and happier you. http://www.youtube.com/user/LBEM1115
