  1. @@Aggiemae thank you! I will make sure I try not to exceed 4 ozs. Maybe it's because it's a clear liquid like apple juice so I don't get the full feeling as fast? With my shakes I fill super fast. It's just the clears that I tend to lack that full feeling with. But I will make sure to monitor so I don't stretch anything. Lol I imagine it will! That's a tooooon of walking!!!!! Sent from my SM-N910P using the BariatricPal App

@@happynfree1996 thank you! I really do!! I recommend, whatever your situation you HAVE to communicate. Don't make it a lonely internal battle. If you live with a partner a kid a friend a parent or alone just make sure those around you KNOW if they are making you feel hungry or sad. I struggle with infertility and often got so upset at how my friends would endlessly talk about and post photos of their kids. I found it insensitive and it hurt. They just never knew until I told them how it made me feel. Everyone's in their own head and their own little world's so they may not even realize how cooking something may make you feel. And I'm with Bill, you really don't have the hunger. I was a compulsive eater pre-op. Literally obsessed with food and always planning my next meal. I didn't do any crazy mental changes but I truly don't feel hungry after surgery. I feel thirsty for sure but not hungry. It's so bizarre but I guess it's the science of the gut and how the bateria and hormones communicate with the brain. It works whatever it is Sent from my SM-N910P using the BariatricPal App @@happynfree1996 thank you! I really do!! I recommend, whatever your situation you HAVE to communicate. I did all the bad things!

The people in my program have been real big on no liquids 30 minutes before or after eating. The rationale is that the liquid will wash the food down into your intestine before it is digested properly, and cause dumping. This seems to be a holdover from RNY practice, and a number of people here contend this is not an issue for sleeves. I am still working on that, but I did push the limit with no negative consequences.Oooooooh yes I tecall that now. It's in my book too from doc but I dot truly drink I sip everything and sip morning to night due to nausea so it didn't register what you were talking about. Thanks and keep sharing your stories!!! December Sleeve

I am scheduled for 12/14 and it's starting to get real. So glad you're doing so well! Makes me hopeful! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Hey Julia.I'm having my surgery on December 14 too! Good luck! Don't look back, turn the page, and let your next chapter begin! Mine is the 14th as well!! Super nervous Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App I am extremely nervous! I heard the anesthigiologist (sp?), can give you something for the nerves. Sure hope o get that, otherwise I might not be able to go through with it! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Yes tell them right away you have anxiety and you feel panicked and ask if they can give you something to calm down. It's amazing stuff and I promise it wull calm you. I get panic attacks. I love the stuff they give you! They will give it in your IV though so breath and count and be distracted while they get your IV started and then they can put you in zen. If you are scared in the waiting room tell the receptionist what's going. Tell them you feel like you may have a panic attack. They can help you through it. But know that it will go great! It's an incredibly common surgery with extremely rare issues. It's scary yes for you but for the doctor it's easy peasy!!! And even better you are sleeping through the worst of it and then BAM it's over and on to recovery!! Sent from my SM-N910P using the BariatricPal App
  5. I used them with all my back surgeries and they are dreadful. Additionally. Yes you would be all tucked in while wearing but it's because it's compressing everything including your organs. So once you take it off for a bit and gravity puts everything back where it should be then it was a waste of comfort. I never had long term tightened skin from them and I would always lose weight with the surgeries. Just my experience. Your skin will tighten according to genetics and exercise and health. Wraps and cynchs are only a temporary fix. If someone rubs honey on their stomach and the skin gets tight they'll say it's the honey. If their sister uses vinegar and her stomach tightens she will say it was the vinegar. We will never truly know what will tighten as you can't really compare and case study. I say be active, LOTS of Vitamins and moisturize, and wear spanks when you need that extra tuck for an outfit ???? Sent from my SM-N910P using the BariatricPal App
  6. Did you get in all your water and protein from the start? I was released from the hospital yesterday and could only drink 17 ounces of water throughout the day. I don't want to get discouraged too early, but... well, aim discouraged. Surgery was Friday. Sent from my HTC Desire 626s using the BariatricPal App I had a really hard time and got upset at first but tiny sips ALL day of the protein shake and each day I was able to handle a little more. The same with water. Literally all day little sips. Then as you can handle more you can have bigger gaps between and get to more normalcy. Sent from my SM-N910P using the BariatricPal App
  7. Surgery was 12/5 and I started side sleeping with no pain this past Saturday night. So just under a week. Sent from my SM-N910P using the BariatricPal App

    I'm starving

I had similar struggle with incredible nausea with even Protein shake but what helped me turn things around was taking tiny bird sips and waiting between each. It would apply to food too if you are eating. Tiny bits, chew really well, swallow, and wait a couple minutes before the next bite. My doctor says to commit 30 min to each meal even when you only need to get 3 ozs in. Take the time and go slow. I have found though i cannot drink a swig like i did post opp or i get pain and sickness. I HAVE to sip. As if it was piping hot Soup. Either way, sorry you are going through this. Sip and wait sip and wait sip and wait. I was painful for a minute until I learned that. The actual sleeve stomach it's incredible swollen and tender from surgery. So even a tiny bird sip can be felt. And for sure the IV will add tons of weight!!!!!!!! Sent from my SM-N910P using the BariatricPal App
  12. I've never faced such a challenge to stay strong then I am with this surgery. 12/5 was my sleeve. Being home for recovery and every single commercial break there are countless food commercials. They are so in your face too nowadays.... so my little PSA is to stay busy or distracted! Adult coloring books, read books, watch old movies, go through family photos, call friends/family and talk about life, go for a walk, knit, sew, crochet, watch Netflix or DVD or Ondemand. Just try to keep temptation or more so TAUNTING food blurbs out of your life while you learn your new normal and recover. My husband also eats in any room of the house except the one I'm in. When my cravings appear he will go out to eat to make sure the house doesn't smell like food I can't have. Anyway just trying to make helpful tips for anyone else who like me had to Learn to cope. Quitting smoking cigarettes many years ago was easier than this. You can't quit eating. But you can quit being controlled by food! We got this Sent from my SM-N910P using the BariatricPal App
  13. Mine was 12/5 and sports bra for the first week but mine is already healed and not tender so I could wear an underwrite if I wanted at this point. Sent from my SM-N910P using the BariatricPal App
