Is there a reason you didn't follow the liquid diet? I am surprised that you didn't get really sick as this is done to let your body heal.

More difficult than I thought

Hang in there. It does get better. I was banded 10/31/16 and like you the weight just didn't fall off like I thought it would. I haven't lost anything in the last 3 weeks but I am hoping it will get better after my fill. It is so hard watching everyone eat what you can't. I even hated to see fast food commercials!! I went through depression the first 2 weeks. I missed food more than I ever thought I would. I am sure that it will be worth it in the end. You are not alone...just hang in there. -
It's been the same for me. I haven't found anything that I ate that bothered me. I know they say that this is just a "tool" but I am with you. If I was going to diet constantly we could do that without the band...lol My sister-in-law has had her band for 2 years. According to her it took a while for her to start loosing weight and then once she did it just fell off. She claims that she eats anything she wants except bread because it gets stuck. She just has smaller portions of course. No negative comments needed bandsters...lol

I would like to know that too. I have been eating grits and mashed potatoes because they are filling. I am at a stall loosing weight though. How have you been since your first fill? Do you have more restriction and eat less?

In the early stages of deciding if surgery is the best option
weneebug replied to Mountaln Gal's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I had my surgery on 10/31 and the first 2 weeks were the hardest with hunger pains and feeling weak. I am totally back to normal now and I am so glad that I had the surgery. As many people say...I wish I had done it sooner. I have lost 22 pounds and already feel better about myself. I still have an issue with portion but I am hoping that gets better as I start to get my fills. I am 44 and started out at 228 and now weigh 206. Can't wait to break that 200 barrier! -
Just banded yesterday- 12/1/16

I was sore for about a week and had no energy at all. I only took my pain meds for 2 days but made sure that I kept them in my system (taking every 4 hours). -

Welcome. I was just banded on October 31st. I hit a stall in loosing weight around the middle of the 2nd week and now have hit another stall. Once I started Puree I just completely stopped loosing. I am hoping it will start back up soon. I have a fill scheduled on Dec 13th. I don't think there is anything to worry about. -
Gained weight within 3 days of surgery
weneebug posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi! I am new to the site and to lap band. I had my surgery on 10/31 and weighed 217 pounds. I weighed yesterday and had gained 2 pounds, weighed again this morning and have gained another 3 pounds. Is this normal? I am only consuming liquids so I would expect it to drop quick. It's really discouraging because I feel like I am starving. -

I was banded Oct 31st and have a question about spicy food. I LOVE spicy food and was wondering if any of the seasoned bandsters could give me some insight on eating it in the future. Does spicy food have any effect on you and how long after surgery did you wait to try it?
-
Sorry I was trying to type and my phone was going crazy. I have seen so much negativity on lap band on this site. It is pretty discouraging. I felt this was the right choice for me but now I am having doubts with all of the negative post. I hope my band is a success!

Are you banded or do you have the sleeve? Your profile says Gastric Sleeve? -
@@Treadmillwalker ... I am have been doing great physically. I just worry because I eat way more than I am suppose to because I have no restriction. Not eating as much as before surgery but eating more than what my doctor recommends. I haven't lost any weight over the last couple of weeks. I keep yo-yoing with 3 lbs.
-
I was banded in October also....October 31st. How have you been doing since surgery? Have you had your first fill yet?
-
How do you handle spicy foods with the band?

I was thanking you for the response on your experience. Wasn't suggesting otherwise. -

Amazing Transformation! I am just starting out and this is very encouraging. -
Mine was only 30 days from the scheduled surgery date that my doctor gave them.
-
@ Maybe you will have some restriction now. I don't believe my doctor put any in my band so you can imagine how I want to eat...lol I can't wait for my appointment but I still have 2 weeks. Your doctor sounds more aggressive.

OK...thank you! I can't wait to try it. I was worried that I may have to cut it out of my diet. -
