  1. Just wondering if anyone has had the surgery performed by Dr Aceves and wondering if you could share your experience and opinion. I am trying to decide between Dr Aceves and Dr Ortiz in Tiajuana. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

    Stage One

My doctor told me clear liquids only for the first 2 weeks! Broth is OK but I bought some Isopure which is a clear liquid protein (fruit flavored). It tastes good and 1 bottle provides 80% of your daily protein. Not a bad alternative. Also, I read where someone floated an onion slice in their beef broth while cooking to make it taste more like french onion soup

    Im home and banded!

I was also banded the 24th (Dr Aceves/Mexicali)....so far I feel pretty good. Soreness in my abdomen and tightness in my chest (I swear I can feel the band around my stomach!). I can't really tell if I'm hungry - is it in my head or really hungry? I'm drinking Isopure which is a clear liquid protein - that seems to help. Congrats to all my fellow 24th bandsters - our first step in an exciting journey!

    Pre-Op Diet Failure

I am scheduled to have surgery Tuesday Jan 24 (Dr. Aceves,Mexicali) and am supposed to be on high protein, low fat, low carb diet. Not only am I not following the pro-op diet, I am totally into last meal syndrome and eating like there's no tomorrow. I can't tell you how disgusted I am with myself. Should I cancel the surgery or do you think the Dr will do it anyway. If I'm having this much trouble following the diet now, is there hope for me after? Anyone that experience similar or can relate I would really appreciate hearing from you.
