Aristocat started following Hey!! Another new one.., How does the psych eval go?, I hate insurance companies! and and 7 others
-
They want to see if you are in your right mind. I made jokes with mine the whole time. I remember he asked why I was here and I said, "you need to determine if I'm crazy." I sat and talked and he asked family history question about, depression, suicide and what not. I ended the session with.. "So, how crazy am I?" LOL

Oh cool! Your is for the 24th too. Well, mine was for that same day, but my gallbladder started to act up, so they want to remove that first, so my band got postponed. Good luck and do post about your experience.. I would love to hear.

Oh that does suck! My insurance had a six month and a 3 month. Where went required only 3 months, which went by fast and I'm sure your six months will too. Hang in there sweetie!

That is great!

Love the positive attitude! Congrats on the new job and new clothes..

They said that they normally do both if I was having the by-pass. The reason why he wont do it the same time is because of any risk of infection to the band. If I was to get the band first and then months down the road did the gall bladder, they said that there could have been a chance the band could have gotten infected and then it would have been removed. It all make sense and I appreciate them looking after my well beings.

My surgery was for the 24th of this month. I went yesterday for my pre-op and my post of class. I was getting so excited that my time was coming near. I got a call from one of the nurses after I got home and she told me that they need to hold off on the band and remove my gallbladder the 24th. I need to wait six weeks after that, so my band will be placed on March 17th. I was devastated at first when she told me, but I got over it fairly quick, so now just bummed. I was so nervous about having any kind of surgery to begin with and the thought of having to go under twice just makes me crazy. Has anyone else gotten their gallbladder removed and if so, how did you feel after-wards?

Has anyone gone to John Hopkins for LB?

Hey Barbara, Have you checked with Dr. Von Rueden? Because he has a dietician on staff and some insurances require 3 months with a dietician and supervision weightloss. Without the dietician it would be a 6 month supervision. I thought that was interesting. http://www.gbmc.org/mediarelations/BariatricCtrExcel.cfm -
Thanks for the link. That is some good info because I wondering how do you know if the band it too tight and it answered it.
