I'm so glad I came across your post and the responses. I'm having trouble too but rather than gaining, I'm just kind of bouncing back and forth between 3 lbs difference / stalling out. I'm going to give the 5DPT a try too, from the suggestion of another and reading that thread. I had my last (#2) fill on 10/29 and won't have my next until 1/27. While I have been exercising since the 1st of the year, I wish I had started sooner and won't offer any excuses (although I did seriously work waaaay too much in Nov/Dec) - but it's a new year and we can all be off to a great start together! :thumbup: We should support each other, isn't that what this is about. Best of luck to you all. Keep us posted on the 5DPT and any results; I'm going to give it a shot next week.

Tainabj - Just wanted to say "Hi!". I'm a patient of Dr. Steinberg also and was banded 08/07/08. Congratulations to you and hang in there! By the way, don't worry about the fill! I'll be having my 3rd on the 27th.

Yeah for all of us! I was banded on the 7th at 8am. I spent the night in the hospital and while I wasn't thinking that would be so fun, it turned out to be really good for me. Congrats!

Hey y'all! I'm here from Dacula (work near Lenox) so I'm going to Dr. Menachery at Dekalb. I'm going tmw for psych consult with Dr. Ritz - guess it's my last real visit besides with my PCP to get records and letter before the "final" one with Dr. Menachery. Just a bit nervous about the psych consult and getting this going - while being excited at the same time. Seeing the great results and the positive stories, so keep them coming because they keep my hope and spirits up! Best to you all!

Hey 4jin - You had your surgery with a doctor in Suwanee? I've looked all over and haven't found anyone in north Gwinnett. I was beginning to think you had to go ITP or to Gainesville or Athens. Is your doc with Atlanta Bariatrics in John's Creek? or affiliated with GwinnettMed in some way? I've just joined the group, but the main reason I did was because of reading through this thread. You all are such an inspiration. :tea: I had my initial info session last eve at Dekalb with Drs Steinberg and Menachery. So looking forward to getting going...

:biggrin2: Hi everyone! I've been browsing the site for the past week or so. I joined tonight because I am so impressed by the enormous amount of support that is on the site. It is truly what I need. I've been battling my weight issues for majority of my life. While I don't have any co-mobidities (yet), I have a family history and know it's only a matter of time. I'm borderline with my BMI (40, depending on what day/time of day it is). I have UHC, which I've read is a good about covering, but, I've got a consumer driven health-care plan that I doubt will. Regardless, I'm excited about the possibilities that lie ahead of me. I'm attending my first seminar at a recommended facility/doctors from the GA board on Thursday. Anyway, looking forward to sharing my journey with you as well as yours! If any advice on what to expect after the seminar, please write! :shades_smile: kara
