  1. Happy 43rd Birthday Susie70!

  2. Happy 42nd Birthday Susie70!

  3. Hi Onnie67. I, too, am scheduled on Friday, 6/27! I would LOVE to have some online buddies to go through this process together! I'm nervous about it but just went through a 5 hour education class through the Bariatric Center and it put a lot of my fears at ease. Still anxious about it though. I've never had any type of surgery before! TTYS!
  4. YES! I finally have a surgery date for Friday, June 27th. I'm SO excited and yet so terrified at the same time. I know that I'll be using you all as support before and after. Can't wait til I start dropping the lbs!
  5. I can't make up my mind on whether or not to tell my co-workers about getting the lapband surgery. On one hand, I don't want to tell them because it's very personal and I don't want to be judged by others for taking "the easy route". But on the other hand, I fear that by keeping this secret, I'll feel like I can't be honest with people and that may affect me. Also, I wonder if people will be more supportive than judgmental and by me not saying anything, I'll be missing out on their support. Have those of you told your co-workers? If so, were you happy with the decision to open up to them? Have those of you who haven't told your co-workers? Do you regret it and feel "alone" with everything that is going on where you can't share? Thanks in advance for your thoughts and advice!
  6. Thanks so much for your detailed information about your day of and after surgery. It definitely makes me feel more comfortable in knowing the process! :smile2:

    It's Official!!

yikes! I hope that I can deal with the pain. I just have to tell myself, each day it'll get better! I think that it's normal for people to sometimes have "buyer's remorse" afterwards...I am nervous about feeling that way too! But, then I tell myself how much better my overall life will be with the band. Thanks for the advice to drink and walk lots. I have read that quite a bit on the forums. I don't have a date yet for surgery. I will get it scheduled sometime next week! I know that Scottsdale Bariatric is very busy, so I anticipate having to wait a month and a half or so for my surgery. Maybe if I'm lucky, I'll get in sooner! Continued good health and keep in touch to let me know how you're progressing!:frown:

Gotta love BCBS! Congrats of getting banded and already losing so many lbs.! So? How are you feeling? What doc did you go to? I'm going through Dr. Blackstone at Scottsdale Bariatric.

Best of luck on Monday with your consultation! I hope it goes well! Keep me posted!
  11. It took months to compile all of my support information on my application and have consultations with the clinic. But only after a week of receiving my info, BCBS of Arizona has accepted coverage for my Lap Band surgery! I am still in a bit of shock but am overjoyed! Now, I just need to set a date with my surgeon. WOOWOWW!!!

    Dreams--is it just me?

That's hilarious and disgusting at the same time! That said, I, too, would be willing to dispose of my fat & skin in zip lock bags if I get approved!!!

    Dreams--is it just me?

Oh good! I'm glad it's not just me! Thanks!
  14. For the past three nights, I've been dreaming about going into surgery for the lapband. They weren't nightmares but more anxiety dreams. I haven't even gotten the surgery approved by my insurance carrier yet...just turned in all my paperwork less than a week ago. Does anyone else have these dreams? I think I'm already getting obsessed with the surgery! I know that I'm incredibly anxious to get things started. I want it SO bad!

    Almost Ready!

I know that certain insurance carriers allow for a BMI slightly lower if you have any co-morbid conditions (like me, I have degenerative joint disease in my knees). By any means, I wish you the best of luck!
