Hello everyone! I have fallen in love with this site! I have spent countless hours- NOT doing laundry- on here. This is usually the first site in the am and last one in the pm that I visit. I just found out today that I HAVE APPROVAL!!! As I sit here with "perma-grin", I have all of you to thank. I feel completely informed and confidant that this is the right choice for me. Really the only questions that remain for me will be answered on June 24th at my orientation. I will then learn my dr's spacific guidelines and rules. I have to say, most of all I love the surgery day stories. This will be my first and I really feel like I know generally what to expect. I can't wait to post my own! So, cheers to a new me! I am on my way!!! Best of luck to us all! -Chelle

Mine was easy! The Dr asked me a lot of general mental health questions like- happy childhood, ever been abused, high stress life- things of that nature. For me it was a breeze- I have had a great life! He also asked me several band questions to see how much I knew and understood about the band and WLS, things like- walk me through the surgery, food stages, complications, my expectations. Again, really easy for me. I have spent a lot of time learning about this and it showed. I got two thumbs up from him! Best of luck to ya!

I don't have those answers just yet. My Drs office- business side any ways- is hard to get a hold of most times (only thing I really don't like about them). Anyone else know? p.s. I was told there is no where on the BCBS web site that will show if you have been approved, I will receive a letter with the decision. BUT- I could have gotten wrong info, if you know better I would love to know! I feel like I am stalking the post woman! -

I, too have BCBS FEP (basic), in Indiana, I was told about the 2 $100 co-pays as well, PLUS I will have to pay 30% of the Lap-Band device if it is billed seperatly. If it is billed under something else- surgeron or hospital, it will be covered 100%. My paper work was summited on May 30th, I'm still waiting to hear. I have a lower BMI with 2 co-mos. Best of luck to you all! -
Did your Dr. charge the band device seperatly? I have to pay 30% of device unless it is bill with the surgeon cost. I am hoping it will be "bundled"!
