DaleCruse got a reaction from Sosewsue61 in I was sleeved 3 years ago today. Ask me anything.
Can I? Yes. Do I? No. I've always been more of a wine person than a beer person. That said, I grew to enjoy wine too much. I got to the point that I was drinking one to two bottles of wine every night. That was a poor choice. I'm proud to say it's been more than 10 weeks since I've had any alcohol. I have few regrets in life, but if I had to do drink that much again, I wouldn't.

You should be fine. Just don't make a habit of doing this. Good luck!

Friends, I've done some things very right for me like exercising, joining this forum, & quitting alcohol.
But I've also done some things very wrong for me like drinking too much, eating too much occasionally, & not seeking support when I needed it.
I hope this thread is helpful to you.

I can pretty easily eat 8 ounces of just about anything. More than that & I feel uncomfortable.
I'm not hungry a lot. Once a day around 4:30pm I could definitely use some food. I'm trying to anticipate that so I have good options available to me.

Two or so days after surgery I was on the treadmill. 0.1 miles the first day, 0.2 the second, 0.3 the third. I just kept adding more. After 7-10 days I started ab work, again very slowly. I still exercise & was on the treadmill this morning. I'm a U.S. Army veteran & being able to move again is one of the best parts of this for me.
The weight loss slowed down, stopped, & reversed direction the more alcohol I drank. Proud to say I haven't had any alcohol in more than 10 weeks.
I definitely have acid reflux. There are lots of acidic foods I enjoy. Champagne, beer, & even fizzy Water like La Croix "repeat" on me. Being a stomach sleeper doesn't help.
I'm passively considering a revision, not actively. I reserve the right to change that answer though!

Congratulations on your progress! Since you've already had surgery, you might find more answers on the POST-surgery forum. That said, so many questions here revolve around the question of normalcy. If you get hungry when you stay up later, what if you went to bed earlier? Good luck!

My weight loss seems to be kinda slow since post op... I've lost 17 pounds since surgery on 9/11/17, and lost 14 pounds prior to surgery, for a total of 31 pounds since 8/25. But today I went to Walmart and figured I'd try on some jeans. I have not worn jeans in almost a year. Much to my surprise, I was able to get into a size I have not been able to get into in years. Then when I did the math in jean sizes, I've dropped from a size 16/18 to a size 10!! I just couldn't believe it!! This road is not easy, but seeing the inches coming off by being able to wear clothes I haven't been in was a nice reward. So, sticking with this is so worth it!! Best of luck to everyone out there, and thanks for your support!

DaleCruse got a reaction from ag001 in Im SOO HUNGRY! How are you making it through?
The pre-op diet sounds easy until we actually have to do it. Some people want to start it early & run full steam ahead but too quickly run out of gas. This is hard. You're in one of the hardest phases of this whole thing. Know that every one of us who've made it to the other side has gone through exactly the same thing. Dig deep. Deeper than that. Find that source of inspiration. Good luck!

I'm sorry this is happening to you. You don't deserve it. When people verbally attack you, have you considered attacking back? What if you said something like, "By saying what you're saying, you're hurting me. You're making this worse." Make them understand their words have an impact.
I enjoy confrontation & recognize this approach isn't for everyone. Good luck!
