I have burped more in the two-ish years since surgery than ever before!
-
It's tough. Especially at first. If it helps, I can't think of a bariatric surgery patient (including me) who hasn't felt overwhelmed at some point. Stick to it! Good luck!

If you're dying for something, have a sip. See how it goes. If it goes well, have another sip. If it doesn't go well, you're not ready. Be careful and good luck.

I can't think of a bariatric surgery patient who hasn't experienced this.

Anyone using this protein? Feedback please...

I use Isopure with Coffee flavor first thing in the morning and love it. Edit: To be clear, I don't mix Isopure with coffee. I drink coffee-flavored Isopure with water. Two scoops in a large shaker bottle. -
You're not alone. Post surgery we lose weight so fast that it becomes an addicting game. After a time it slows down or maybe stops. For some it even goes back up a little. IMO, you need to figure out your core problem (stress? shame? something else?) and identify it. If you can identify and eliminate it, you'll be back on track. Good luck!

How soon can we begin to workout
DaleCruse replied to CantStopMeNow's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
IMO (and my surgical team) it's up to you. If you feel ready, go for it. I'd start light and progress from there. I was on the treadmill the second day I was home from the hospital. Good luck! -
Does anyone worry that they still won't lose ?
DaleCruse replied to sally628's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm curious how consuming 600 calories per day didn't work. I'm also curious how someone who has lots of willpower isn't able to lose weight. I'm not judging; I'm just curious. -
No, I don't work for this forum and I didn't demand anything. But I'm a web developer who knows what it takes to create a site like this.

You didn't mention if you're on a phone or laptop/desktop. If you're on a phone, someone else mention how to increase your font size. If you're on a laptop/desktop, your browser has the ability to make your fonts larger. Try Command + on a Mac or Control + on a Windows machine. Good luck.

Yep! I felt like I was drowning from hunger and very irritable. It's cold comfort to read this now, but it'll pass. Good luck! -

Post Op Exercise???
DaleCruse replied to sleevingbeauty321's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was told to start slow and not push it. I didn't experience much pain after surgery so I was back in the gym three days later. Consider other ways to relieve stress and anxiety. Sex, with someone or alone, works for many people. Also consider "laughter therapy". By that I mean watch a funny movie and truly laugh every day for an extended period of time. It's fun! -
Honestly did anyone CHEAT on their liquid diet and was still able to get the sleeve done?
DaleCruse replied to Jahni~n~JahmirMOM's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, but barely. -
I'll bet you're experiencing more mental anguish right now than you'll experience physical pain then. Good luck!

So much of this process isn't just getting physically prepared, it's getting mentally prepared. Consider your nutrition class part of getting you mentally prepared. Listen carefully, take notes, and don't be afraid to ask questions. Good luck!

Help! Worried about getting dehydrated.
DaleCruse replied to ZenDog's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
IMO, if you don't feel ready for pureed foods, don't eat them yet. I never did that whole don't drink water just before or just after thing. Surgery was 2.5 years ago. Good luck! -

WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?!
DaleCruse replied to Typhanie85's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
One thing that might help is sleeping more. Not enough sleep can cause inflammation, stress, and anxiety. I know it's easier said than done, but give it a shot! Good luck. -
According to some, not all.

Pre-op with questions
DaleCruse replied to Debbie9966's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Some people end up with saggy skin, others don't. I was lucky enough not to. You said, "I have serious self image issues being so heavy. My fear is it will just switch over to being self conscious of the saggy skin." If you were driving a race car and noticed you were about to crash into a wall, would you keep driving into it? Of course not! You'd change direction. Please consider finding ways to prevent your self consciousness from causing you more pain. Good luck! -
Psychological evaluation

That's great! Mention it!
