    Pre-surgery Exercise

I think part of the reason they tell us to start exercising is so we get used to it. That way we'll want to exercise post surgery. Good luck!

    Scared

    You're doing great! Welcome!

    Waiting anxiously

    Good luck!

    2 weeks post-op exercises

You're doing great! Keep going! Try adding other exercises little by little. Do a sit up. If that doesn't feel good, you're not ready. If it feels okay, do two tomorrow, three the next day. Consider free weights & weight machines. If you can walk, try picking up the pace. There are so many options! Good luck!

    preparing and afraid

I'm sorry you're scared. I've never met a gastric surgery patient who wasn't scared at some point. Ask yourself what's scarier: Giving up your "drug of choice" or continuing to gain weight? Rather than focus on what you won't have, focus on what you will have. Good luck!
  6. Isopure has a lot of different flavors. You've tried them all? I'm sipping the espresso flavor as I type this.

    Just getting started..

Having multiple appointments is what I experienced at Lahey. Ask for a list of what appointments you'll need & with who. It's commonly six months of pre-op so three months sounds like you're getting the fast track. Good luck.

    Coughing up Blood

IMO, coughing up blood more than once is cause for concern. We hope your husband got the care he deserves. Keep us posted. Good luck!

    So soon

It's normal for you, according to your doctor. Good luck!

    Newbie; Initial Post.

    You're doing great! Congratulations!
  11. It sounds like you're worried about something that may or may not happen. You can have the surgery & lose 40-50% or you can stay as you are. Which would you prefer?

    Working out

The second day I was home from the hospital I got on the treadmill. Not much to start but I slowly built up. Good luck!
  13. @Farah@mysleeve Five weeks in & you've ONLY lost 22 pounds?! That's great! Congratulations! @Nanasha Who said anything about losing weight being fun? It's work! It's work that we're all doing together! Good luck!

    Acid reflux

Omeprazole works well to help prevent acid, Tums works well to deal with acid when you already have it. I'm sorry you're not feeling well. Good luck!
  15. Stop beating yourself up. That's not helping you. Accept that you've gained a few pounds & put your focus back on eating right & your upcoming surgery.

    Male Post Op Advice

@atontor You look awesome. Congratulations! @gwbicster While Dr. Weiner often has interesting insights, I'm having difficulty believing head hunger equals addiction. I'm nearly three years post WLS & no longer feel head hunger. Does that mean I no longer have an addiction? Or does it mean I never really did have an addiction? I'm having a hard time saying yes to either of those questions. @Mersh You're in one of the most difficult phases of your journey. You've had surgery & now you want to eat some food you really can't handle yet. I feel for you, pal. When you're ready, consider other softer proteins like plain yogurt & then cottage cheese later. Pretty soon you'll move on to eggs, fish, chicken, pork, & beef. You can do this!
  17. Congratulations on your surgery! You're in one of the toughest stages & I feel for you. Now that you've had surgery, you'll probably find better answers in the post-surgery forum rather than this pre-surgery forum. Good luck! It gets better!

    Hello. Just starting.

Welcome. You'll find lots of good info here. If you have questions, odds are someone else has asked the same question & had it answered here. Take a look around!
  19. Apparently it's normal for you. As long as you & your surgical team think your progress is normal, then it's normal. Congratulations!
