Thanks, I just wanted some opinions before I invested in a juicer.

I'm 6 days out and I'm able to hit my 64 Oz target now. A day or two ago, not even. It takes time and we are different.
-
Done and done. Sorry for the late reply, I've had some personal issues going on.
-
Yes I have a fit bit. I purchased one when I started my weight management, knowing it would come in handy.
-
Thanks for pointing it out. The one I'm on isn't that bad, it's nectar sweets, but due to my nausea and feeling full I just can't down anything. Today has been good so far, 2 down one to go. Haven't been able to walk much either.

Thanks Sleevepanda, but I did terrible yesterday. I was only able to down two of my four shakes. I got home after discharged and I have slept twelve hours. I'll be back on trying the protein again and water intake. I just don't feel the hunger and nausea isn't helping any. But we just have to worry about protein and water intake for now. Wishing the best for all those beginning their journey like me.

I'm only two days out, but honestly I haven't had any cravings. I don't feel hunger either. I'm still hospitalized, so I have to drink the protein given to me here, the only thing that has helped me has been having the broth or creme soup after the shake. Hopefully your head hunger and craves go away

That's great! I'm hoping not to have to rely on pain medication much longer
-
Sleevinpops, I think so too. I at least haven't had any of the side effects others have had. But I also know the journey has just started

Wonderful! Sent from my SM-G360T1 using the BariatricPal App

Alright guys, just like the title suggests, I have finally been approved! Just waiting to hear from my surgeons office to see how much I have to fork over and be able to have a date set. I have to admit, this is pretty exciting. Just at arms length it feels like.

How do you view overweight people now that your thin?
TexasguyEP replied to doxaholic's topic in The Lounge
Those are some great questions to ask. I personally have not undergone my surgery as of yet, but have lost some weight under my weight management and expect to have lost some more with my pre-op diet. Having been obese for practically all of my life, I can't help but say that I would feel empathy/compassion towards people that are in the same situation. -
I personally opted for RNY, simply because it suited my needs better. I am psyched mentally for it and my body is ready for the change. Due to my co-morbodities, RNY would offer exactly what I needed out of the surgery.

I agree with everyone here, your best bet will be to buy clothes from Goodwill, Salvation Army or any place similar where you'll be able to find cheap, but good clothing. At least I don't see myself spending money on clothes every few months and having to give everything else almost brand-new away. BTW, congratulations on your surgery! Best of luck!

Everyone, thank you very much. Yes, I am psyched, I'm excited and definitely cannot wait until a date has been set. I'll be expecting to take the full month off work, I don't know that I will feel that I need it, but if the surgeon is requesting it, I'll definitely go for it. I need the time off and I'll be able to be more active on here.

I'll be going through my insurance. Just received a phone call this Friday afternoon, I'm looking at $860 for my surgeon.

that's great VDB, I'm glad to hear man. I am looking forward to that myself. I think I have all the tools I need to get this started.

Yes, I love my FitBit. I bought the FitBit flex, about two months ago, which is one of the more basic ones but it does everything I need. It helps monitor sleep amount, water intake, caloric intake and serves as a stepometer. Pretty simple to use and not very expensive. I paid $76 after taxes, but it seems to be a lot less expensive now. I think its a great tool for beginners. I definitely encourage you look into the different capacities per Fitbit and see what works best for you. Good luck!

Well I suppose we still have some time left and see if we might get some winter weather coming our way. We use a wood burning stove at our place for the colder months.
-
I am envious of the snow y'all are getting. I live in the desert, and we have had very nice weather. Temps ranging anywhere from low 30's to high 60's for our highs and lo's. Oh how I wish we would get at least some much colder weather or snow. Nothing too crazy however.

This was too funny! thanks a lot!
