I am going on 4 months and I just can't seem to hit that sweet spot and not sure what that is anymore. I can eat anything, I have 2cc in and still hungry, I feel the same way, did I go thru all this for nothing and still fighting the food issue. What is everyone at, I know everyone is different but does anyone else have more than 2cc?

Kristi, at 2.2cc and the restriction, are you feeling like you are getting close to the feeling like after your surgery? I am gaining weight back too and it is getting me down. I lost so well and now I am feeling like before the surgery, hungry all the time and can eat fast and anything I want to eat, its very frustrating. It is also scarring me becasue I feel like something could be wrong because I am like I was before the surgery.

DeeDee, That is great, I am soo happy for you, thats what I have been wondering, do we ever feel like the restriction after the surgery. OK now I know and that is where I want to be. I need to go back soon!!! I just had more put in but not like you, I am at 1.6 and I am still wide open, He was being very cautious and I don't understand when some people are at 2 cc plus. Well DeeDee, you go girl and thanks for answering my questions, yahoo I will feel restriction!!!

Schel, So is that where we are suppose to stop is at 1cup or less? I haven't heard that and wondered because I have had my second fill and at 1.6CC with a 4cc band and I don;t feel it yet. Also if that is what we are suppose to stop at, how long should that take? I can keep eating if I eat slow and easy LOL Thanks

Dee Dee, I just went for my second fill today, its at 1.6cc, I have a 4cc band too. I don't think it is tight enough. He didn't want to give me more, he thought I would need to be on liquids????. I had chicken salad and felt like I could eat more but stopped (6-8 crackers with chickensaladabout 1.5 hours long). Do you ever feel like right after surgery? Do you stop when you think its enough, because I didn't feel full, I feel something but not sure what exactly. I am having a hard time knowing what is full and what isn't I guess. I just thought I would feel like after the surgery?? Thanks for info

OK I am a bit confused. I have had one fill and going for another because the first one didn't do a thing. I was told that I won't be able to eat very much because of a fill and I would be done after 1/2 cup of food. What is the deal, am I fooling myself to think that this will all be done by the fills and not with our own will power. I was told that I will be full and couldn't eat anything. I am confused. Is it still stopping ourselves after eating or is it because we are full HELP. Thanks for the help

A PB is what they call a progressive burp. Its when food gets stuck and you get all slimmy and throw it up. In my case I threw it up anad then couldn't eat anything for a while because my stoma got swollen because of the regergitation movement irritated it. Now remember I just had the surgery too so I was still healing. Hope that helps. -

Mae, How did the fill go. I am scheduled for my first fill this tues. A little nervous but need a fill, I was doing so good, down 25lbs then in the last week I have gained 5lbs. UGH. My surgery was Dec 8th. no problems since, did have a PB and after that stayed on liquids for a few day which helped and lost some more weight. Yeah. I hear we can not feel anything for a couple of days, would like to hear from you and how you did. -
Help, what is sashimi. I love sushi and thought possibly I could try it but after reading this I guess its not a good idea. So if someone could help with sashimi, maybe I wouldn't be so disappointed.

How much can you consume after surgery?
Jolean replied to lildarlin's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
For me I can drink a can of protein drink but it takes me about 1 hr. Then with my soups etc about the same time, I seem to loose interest before I can get it down. My surgery was the 8th of Dec 2005 and I am eating more now but again I loose interest because it takes me so long to eat and if its hot food, its cold and not so good. I haven't had my first fill and at this point I'm not sure I want to yet, I am scheduled to have a fill on the 16th, I am loosing weight steady so I think I might put it off. Down 23lbs -
My Dr. said that you can drink up to the time you eat and then wait 1/2 after you eat, He also said listen to your body, if you feel your food is going down faster and you are getting hungry then wait longer. I wait 1/2 and feel good with that.

I know everyone is different but is there a list of Foods that we should stay away from. I learned the hard way with bacon, didn't know I should stay away from that and when I called my Dr he said "oh, well I will put that on our list of foods not to have". Strawberries and celery and of course steak is all I was told. Thanks for any info

Hi this is my first time posting, My surgery was Dec 8th 05 and my first fill is scheduled for the 16th. I have been going along just great. Yesterday was my first bad time with the band and I am not sure what is going on. I am thinking food is stuck. I was able to eat breakfast and now only liquids, I have thrown up 4 times now when I try to eat, I have pain in my left shoulder and where I think my stoma is, not all the time though. I have just started walking outside and was winded when I did. I am not sure if I got a peice of bacon stuck even though I thought I chewed it to death or possibly could I have swollen from walking:confused: . I am grabbing at straws just not knowing what is happening. Please any info would be greatly appreciated.

I have been able to burp, the first time I threw up it was pretty strong but not from my lower stomach, it was pretty much clear and mucous all times. Thru the pain time I would have a mucous buildup like in the back of my throat and I couldn't drink even water to help that. I would hickup thru this process and then go and vomit, 2 times after trying to eat something and then it would be over but when I tried drinking water I would get that gurgle in my throat. I am now sipping on protein drink, sort of afraid to try food. Thanks so much for responding so quickly. Oh and as far as eating foods, my dr told me after a week to slowly add what ever I felt comfortable with as long as I chew chew chew, until now I haven't had any problems.
