You lost your sweet-spot. Oh no, it's time for a fill. How long until you get hungry?
alafish replied to dustout's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I had my first fill with good restriction a month ago. That lasted almost two weeks, then I was hungry again. My second fill is scheduled for mid-June. Do you think I should call and try to go in earlier, or just wait it out? I'm not loosing at all, and maybe even gaining some back. Thanks for any input! -
Hi, I'm new here and just wanted to say I was banded on 3/3/08 in Huntsville by Dr. K. Todd Foreman. I can't say enough wonderful things about him. He is patient, caring, and a wonderful surgeon. I'm very glad I didn't make the trip to Birmingham, even though my daughter lives there! Any other Huntsville 'Bandsters' out there? Do you go to any local support groups? I'm looking for one, but so far have found groups comprised completely of gastric by-pass patients.

I'll bet we do take longer bouncing back. I'm a newbie.......was banded last Monday, Mar. 3. Can't wait to start full liquids tomorrow. I'm itching like crazy now. Anyone know of a remedy? Pain's not been too bad, just when I cough or sneeze. It's kind of been a tough go though, as my husband came down with a terrible flu the day before my surgery, and is still pretty miserable. So I've been cooking and caring for him, poor guy. On top of that, this week is when the roofers decided to come put a new roof on the house! We'd been waiting for them for months. oh well. Went to a local support group yesterday, then to the grocery store. Came home totally wiped out! So glad I found you guys. It took a few days to find the New 60+. Hope this group will be active!

Greetings! I'm so glad to have found this group. I'm 61, live in northern Alabama, and was banded Monday, 3/3/08. Right now I am really hungry, and am looking forward to starting full liquids on Monday. I've not had too much trouble with incisions until today, when they started itching like crazy. Also my stomach is quite swollen and wearing any kind of pants is difficult. I got out for the first time today, to a support group (all by-pass patients) and then to the grocery store. Was totally exausted after that. I'm having a lot of trouble maintaining body temperature. Anyone else have that? Sweaty-hot one minute, freezing the next. I'll sure look forward to any suggestions from those whe 'have been down this road'! Thanks, Nancy

Does anyone have some suggestions of what to do about intense itching in the incisions? It's driving me nuts!

North Alabama (Huntsville) Support Group
alafish replied to Savedbygrace's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi, I just got banded on Monday. I went to a Sat. morning support group at Crestwood last week and there was just one other Band. Is this group up and going? When and where? I'm in Hampton Cove. I sure would like to talk to someone who has been down this same road!!! alafish -
Amhancock, I'm with you. I too was banded on Monday, 3//308, and it hasn't been easy. I'm really hungry, very sore, extremely gasy, itchy all over (dr. says it's a reaction to narcotics, i'm on lortab) and can't seem to be able to control body temp. Hot and sweaty one minute, freezing the next. I'm counting on Monday, day 8, being a turning point with the addition of full liquids. It sure is hard finding anything fulfilling with clear liquids. My doc also says not to add protien suppliments til next week. Keep me posted on how you're doing. alafish
