    SEPTEMBER SLEEVERS!

I had my sleeve on 9/20. Started at 249 and down to 185. Losing hair now and I'm getting burnt out on certain foods. My biggest challenge is getting the fluids in - my tic told me to get in 96 ounces per day, although it looks like every other program out there says to get in 64 ounces! I did get a tummy bug a month ago and ended up in the hospital getting 12 bags of fluids over a course of 3 days. My question is about exercise. I've been told to just walk until I get closer to my goal weight. I used to run half-marathons (while I was obese) and walking is killing me! Most days I don't do it because it's so incredibly boring! I asked if I could jog and was told no. I don't care for yoga, I've tried Zumba on YouTube but it wasn't too fun either. Any ideas?

    Alcohol

I was also advised to wait one year but that advice came from the dietitian. In my post-op diet class I was told to be very careful about consuming alcohol because post-Bariatric patients had less stomach to absorb the alcohol. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Any Marathon Runners?

Great!!! Do keep us posted! I'd also recommends the Jeff Galloway training plan - and it's free! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Try bariathlete.com for a plan! Someone on here hooked me up with the site and it seems solid! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Any Marathon Runners?

Hi Caressa! I pretty much came to the same conclusion as you! Don't want to jeopardize my success - the doc said I can plan on running the OKC Memorial Half in April of 2018 so that's what I'll focus on. Once I get another half under my belt post-surgery then I'll start working towards doing a full marathon! I didn't know there was such a thing as a "bariathlete"! Thanks for hooking me up to that term! Toni

    Any Marathon Runners?

I'm a half-marathoner too. Had sleeve surgery on 9/20/16. I know I can't even think about starting training again yet - doc and the exercise physiologist made that clear! I want to follow your post though because as soon as I can start running again I'll be doing the happy dance! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    PatchMD Vitamin Patches

I'm almost 6 weeks post-op (9/20) and I use the patch multi-Vitamin and Vitamin B's. They seem to work well and the B's give me energy. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
