Oooh yes - I have 2 doggies - betty & page (named after the old pinup model). one is a boston/rat terrier mix and the other is a pure rat terrier. the silliest little fart-monkies you could ever ask for! I love mini pins and chihuahuas. what are your little ones names? and i'm so jealous that you know how to sew. we buy clothes for ours but i'm thinking of taking a knitting class to make them some sweaters. Tons of pics of the doggies on my flickr site: brende's photosets on Flickr

    Post Experience?

I've posted my full recovery details on my blog: Lise The Loser’s Weblog but to give you the lowdown, i'm on day 2 and i have a sore stomach. other than that, doing really well. i'll go back to work on monday...wouldn't suggest going back without taking around 4-5 days off to recover. Nice thing is that I'm able to work from home and that is working out great. Drinking a lot of liquids and that has not been a problem. Overall - best decision I have ever made!

    Getting Banded Friday!!

I'm on day 2 (banded yesterday) and although I'm a bit sore, I'm completely happy with my decision. The surgery was fantastic and I'm so confident with my decision I've started a blog about it (link here: Lise The Loser’s Weblog) I know you'll do fine. Be confident. Think of the new you in a year!!!
  11. I'm going to head down the MOM path tomorrow. Been 3 days with no movement...is it normal to not have any movements when you are on all liquids???
  12. Let's see....I was banded yesterday! Still on pain meds...in a lot more pain today than I was yesterday...hurts to sit up, get up, bend down, etc. Definitely hungry but doing well with slimfast blended shakes, tomato soup, apple juice, lemon yogurt, etc. I have "tape" over my incisions. I noticed today that they are bleeding a bit so I put an extra bandaid on a couple of them. I'm allowed to shower now...but I prefer sponge baths from the husband (which he *thinks* are part of the recovery)! I don't know about sleeping on the side...I'm paranoid I will disrupt the port. Checkout my blog for the step-by-step of my experience so far: Lise The Loser’s Weblog

    My first post

My schedule was as follows: Seminar: Feb 21 Psych Exam & Nurse Consult: Feb 25 Surgeon Consult: Feb 26 Banded: Mar 4 All happened so fast...but I was self-pay. Have been told it takes on average 4-6 months if going the insurance route.

Hi Sue - I'm definitely feeling it today...body is sore...that's for sure! Need hubby to help me out of my chair! I did liquids for a couple of days before banding. I could not imagine doing it for 2 weeks - did you go nuts? Did you come up with any new amazing experimental drinks that you can share? check out my blog: Lise The Loser’s Weblog I'm documenting everything about my adventure - including pics!!!
  15. Hi 30-somethings! I was just banded yesterday and am feeling great. So excited about this new journey. I'm 30, live in Seattle, WA with my dear husband and 2 dogs (boston and rat terrier). I'm a director of interactive strategy at an amazing design agency (HL2) and everyone at the office is so supportive and excited for me. I even started a blog to document my weight loss journey/life with a band which is a big step as I used to be so embarrassed and self conscious about my weight/attempts to lose. Now I'm facing the music, being honest about my weight (which includes my drivers license weight!) and will get to my goal. Thank you all in advance for your support! Lise

30, just banded and ready for my new journey!

Haha - I wish! Only 3 lbs so far (from the pre-op diet) but I'm sure I'll be at 13 soon...or at least I hope! :w00t: Well - now you've inspired me.

    Surgery Scheduled

Doing wonderful so far! Since my consult was 1 week before my surgery, I was told to lose 5 lbs (in 1 week). I ended up losing 4...which was just fine w/ my surgeon. I basically did a liquid diet of slimfast shakes (ooh my - taste just like starbucks frapacinos only with a fraction of the calories when blended with ice) and coffee. You can read all about my surgery on my blog (link below) plus I'll be posting some pictures of my big day a bit later today! Fun!!!
  19. Hi! New to the group and am getting banded tomorrow morning at 9:30 am in Everett, WA at Northwest Weight Loss Surgery. Nervous...excited...a bit scared. But overall relieved that I'm starting on a new phase of my life. Stats: 5'5'' Weight: 229 Lise

    Getting banded tomorrow morning!

Thank you thank you - banded and doing great - except for the excitement which has caused me to wake up every 30 minutes and login to lapbandtalk!!!!

    Getting banded tomorrow morning!

Definitely know what you mean, my banded twin! But I'm really just so excited. I am nervous about the fact that the band won't stop me from eating things like ice cream, chocolate, Cookies, cheesecake, etc. But - that's a decision I need to make and I knew we just made the major decision to get the band so decision to turn down foods that we know are not going to help us will just be part of the journey. I've lost weight before - 70 lbs last year - then gained back 90. It's not fun. In fact, it's just plain rotten. But now is the time to take control of our lives and know that we have support, a tool, and the motivation to do it. Won't be easy, but definitely will be worth it.
  23. Wow - my banded twin!!! I'm doing amazingly well. Taking the pain RX because of some mid-section discomfort but other than that, shockingly ok! I've been keeping everything documented in my new blog (link below) which was a big step for me to be so candid online for the world to see but then again, the whole weight loss surgery is a huge step. Tell me about you - you feeling better? Sleeping fine? I'm waking up every half hour but I think it's from excitement. Not from pain. Yeahhh - we did it!!!

THANK YOU! Everything went amazingly well and I am feeling great. Even enjoying the liquid diet...beginning to think that slimfast shakes are better than Frapacinos (and a fraction of the calories and fat)!!! So excited that I'm having a hard time sleeping but I'm sure that will pass.

    Getting banded tomorrow morning!

No way! We are band twins! I'm doing great. A bit of a dry throat...and a small bit of pain in my mid-section. But otherwise I'm shocked at how well I'm doing. Everything went so amazingly well. Dr. Michaelson is just fantastic. Couldn't have been happier - and I got a nice new pair of blue socks! How are you feeling?
