    Concerned

I've been blogging my entire experience (just banded a few weeks ago). The entire experience has been amazing. You can read all about it via my slightly silly (but totally honest) blog: Lise The Loser’s Weblog
  2. Try my slimfast-frappuccino. I am addicted even though i'm off the liquid phase i still have one a day! Just like a Frappuccino! « Lise The Loser’s Weblog
  3. i definitely had the problem urinating. I would go tinkle....tinkle....wait...wait...tinkle. after a few days i could go a little more but i also think a lot may have to do with the fact that you use your stomach muscles when you urinate - i was finally going at "full speed" after about a week post surgery.
  4. No restriction...CAN eat anything...but forcing myself to eat proteins and healthy-ish choices...although all i want is cheesecake, nachos, burgers, fries, chips, cake, candy...icecream, ahhhh...i miss food!

    My Surgery is next Wednesday!

I've been documenting everything about the surgery in my blog (see link below in my signature) but the most pain i had was from the gas. the post op diet wasn't bad...i lived on my recipe for slimfast shakes that i perfected to taste like frappuccinos (recipe in my blog) and the needle was a bit hard for me because i have small veins...but the trick is to read something while they are inserting it...it helps to take your mind off of the second of pain.
  6. in about a week the pounds will start to drop off (once you go off the pain meds, salty soupds, etc)....and you'll be doing the happy dance!

Who Has Lost Over 100 Pounds?!?!

congrats!!! I know how absolutely amazing that can feel!
  8. So I decided to go "public" with my surgery. At first I thought I would makeup some story such as "I'm having my gall bladder removed" but decided what the heck...I told one person - they were totally supportive...so I told another - got the same response. So I started to tell everyone. Then, I started a blog. It's funny, a bit quirky...but I've posted pics of my surgery, recipes of my "frappuccino" like low-fat/cal shake and more. I'm banded and proud, baby!!! Check out my blog and be sure to comment. This is for all of us: Lise The Loser’s Weblog

Going public - I did it! Pics to prove it!

Can't say I've ever had roasted yams...but they sound good (well - right about now ANYTHING sounds good!) I've saved your recipe below and will try them out this weekend. But let me warn you - I am not ..I repeat NOT a good cook. I burn Jell-O. Often. But I'll give it a shot! Thank you!
  10. I am getting my first fill in couple of weeks and was wondering what is the average number of CC's that one typically has filled on their "first time"? How many did you have on your first fill?
  11. Hello, I was banded 3 weeks ago and am not sure if I am feeling any effect from the band. My doctor said that some folks feel a bit of restriction from just getting the band...but I don't think I'm one of them. I just finished some roast beef (deli sliced), a banana, and some oatmeal and I'm still hungry. Grrrr...also, how long did you have to wait until your first fill? Thanks, Lise
  12. Right there with you!!! Give me fill. Give me fill!!!
  13. If you don't mind me asking, how much fill did you get on your "first time", everyone??

    Scared of Needles?

i am soooo afraid of needles - but i found it helps to read something while they are performing the blood work...or try to read something. or do multiplication in your head. or look at a "where's waldo" book! it really does help.

    Not losing weight

20 lbs - that's amazing! i was banded on 3/4 and have only lost 11 lbs! and have you even had a fill yet? we aren't even "supposed" to be losing until we have a fill. it's hard to remember that...or accept it - but that's what "they" say!
  19. Well, I tried to get my date bumped up...but only succeeded by moving it forward 1 day. Gahhh.

    Surgery was Friday 3-14

i was banded on 3/4. the best advice i can give is to walk. i really does help with the gas/bloating and i wish i would have walked more often!
