  1. I found walking helped with gas
  2. I ate some pickles for crunch and some steamed veggies.
  3. Try the liquid type premier protein worked for me. I used the vanilla and the chocolate ones.
  4. I use the Bariatric Pal patch vitamins. They work well. I bought the ones suggested for the gastric bypass. I had surgery 11/11 and have been using them since. Works great.
  5. Talk with your Doctor. I have an endocrinologist who helps me manage that. my A1C is at 6.2. My endocrinologist feels it's going to get better. Before surgery it was 6.3 so yes it is moving in the right direction. Keep it up. Eat protein, then veggies. Leave breads, pastas and sugars alone.
  6. They are looking to identify any signs of depression and other mental illnesses

Reach out to the nutritionist from your program, they will help.
  8. Voss water is great. I drink smart water and Poland spring.
  9. Manhattan here. Had bypass surgery Nov 12. Doing fairly well so far.
  10. The left side is where the majority of the work is done, that's the reason for the pain. I had my surgery on Nov 12th. I still experience pain there, when I cough, sneeze and bend over. It's way better today than it was when I came home. I came home on the 14th. The pain killer medicine does cause constipation. So you may need to take something like miralax but check with your doctor. I had to do that for a couple of days and everything is good today. Keep up the work. Drink your Water its important and to take your Vitamin supplements. I use the patch versions from Bariatric Pal store. Protein is important to prevent hair loss.
  11. I used for the liquid diet slim fast, and premier protein. Both work well and taste is good. I used vanilla, chocolate and Carmel. And tomato soup, low salt. And to handle the desire for chewing. Gum sugarless.
  12. Anyone have issues bending? I've noticed that if I bend at the waist for anything I experience pain. Does that go way with time?
  13. I did liquids the 1st 10 days after surgery. Tomorrow I start my next 10 days on purées. Basically mushy food. Then I can start normal food.
  14. First day wasn't too bad. Just one of the areas near an incision is sensitive to touch. Just the T-shirt flowing across the area. Can't say I'm big on pain killers, but have been taking a bit just not the full dose. Spoke with the nurse and she said that was a good compromise. The painkiller leaves me thirsty and feeling dehydrated.

6 days into the liquid diet the hardest part is walking around outside smelling all the great food from VB various restaurants and food trucks. Or sitting at my desk in work smelling the food from one of my colleagues
