MD says that post hospital I can have full liquids, however am waiting for my body to tell me that I want them . Was not a piece of cake but the waiting is worse.Love my MD. any one in NYC area looking for one let me know ,he is the best

Had a terrible time in the hosital , had to stay in recovery till 2am on a stretcher, got into a room at 3 and finally slept. Yesterday was bad , but today I feel good, nopain , little gas and hardly any nausea, I am getting tired.

My surgery is tomorrow and I am nervous and anxious too . To be honest I must have eaten 3000 kcalories yesterday as I was having terrible panic attacks, which I usually don't have . I think that it is normal before any surgery , but I am thinking that in about 30 hours it will be over and I will be happy that it is complete and that I am going to start a new chapter in my life ... good luck to you ......

Thanks everyone , I spoke with my MD and he said that he prefers that I stay overnight, however if I feel well enough to go home the evening of my surgery he will let me . Personally I hate hospitals , used to work in one , and They are a huge source of bacteria and infection so it is best to get out sooner rather than later . My surgery is a week from yesterday , so I will let you all know what happens

I told my surgeon that I did not want to stay overnight and he said that if I felt OK I could go home the same day ? Any one do that ?

How much time off from work?

You must work for NYC as I had the same issue. GHI says that you can have it with 3 months supervised however the city has contracted with BC/BS to approve the procedure and they have a 6 month rule that they use. Makes no sense to me that GHI says three months when they know that it s not an honest statement . I plan on taking off one week . Two at the most and I commute as well. I think that if you get up and start exercising for 20 mintues per day starting day 1 it helps you get your energy and strength back faster. What hospital are you using ? My MD submitted the pre approval at 3 months and it was denied , but his office kep the case open and I was approved three days after they submitted the 6 months of medical notes. My surgery is Sept 25 -

Love the honesty in your post and after reading about all the pain it is refreshing to hear from someone who is not in awful pain . I am assuming that it will get better as you adjust and you continue your journey . Good luck and keep posting as this is great for someone like me who is getting ready for surgery and after what I have read here , a bit nervous
-
For how long were you dragging . I was anticipating increased energy, but I guess if you are not eating then you are going to be tired . How long ago was your surgery and how are you doing ??
-
Plan on driving from NYC to a farm in PA ( about 3 hours ) and watch corn grow !!! And the steeler game on TV
-
I am planning on going away for Columbus Day weekend which will be 10 days after my surgery. Is that unrealistic?

If you look at the literature it is not a long term solution.furthermore insurance does not cover it yet, so even if your MD schedules as endoscopy you will have a few thousand dollars to pay -

The ESG is really a waste of money and does not last . I had it done last summer, and lost 15 pounds. I did everything that they told me to do and followed the diet exactly . I had nausea and vomiting in the beginning and was full a lot faster. However I had an endoscopy in January and my MD showed me that the entire thing had come apart and did not last . Although I still eat less I have not lost any more significant weigh and am not going to get it redone . You should opt for the sleeve as it works a lot better -

Mine is September 26, pending insurance approval, but considering that I have met all of the criteria and am getting my gall bladder out at the same time , it should be approved
