    New addiction instead of food???

Hey there... I've read about people who've had the wls that start a new addiction... instead of food they turn to something else... I think I'm one of them... and there's no one I can talk to about it where I live... I drink wine... everyday.... not just a glass, not just a bottle, sometimes it's 2 bottles or even 3... once I pour a glass or even take a sip I can't stop till I either pass out or run out. It gets kind of bad sometimes, I wake up not remembering what I did before sleeping... but the thing I recently realized about why I drink... it's "healthier"to me then putting food into my mouth... I'm so terrified to gain weight back! It's hard to explain really...I don't know... maybe it's me just being stupid...idk...I make 2 years November 1st... I guess I just wanted to know if I was alone or not??? Sent from my SM-G935V using BariatricPal mobile app

    Ulcer after sleeve surgery

No I'm not a smoker, proud to say I quit 10 years ago and never went back to it! HW: 419 SW: 341 CW: 299
  3. Hi there, I tried doing a search for this topic bit didn't find one. Just curious if anyone experienced an ulcer after having sleeve surgery. My surgeon thinks that's what I have. I've been very nauseated and have been throwing up for almost a week now. Talked to him the other day and he said I should take omeprazole, to see if that helps. I'm 9 weeks post op. HW: 419 SW: 341 CW: 299
  4. Good job! That's will power....lol. just walk away ; ) HW: 419 SW: 341 CW: 314
  5. I don't think it will affect it, depends though...on what you ate, do you plan to do it again and what kind of pre-op diet plan you're supposed to be on. I'm 7 weeks post sleeve and I know how hard it is to be on liquids. My pre-op diet was 2 weeks of just liquid! That was torture! But I just kept thinking of what I was going to be doing and the outcome if it all, to be successful, depended on me doing what my surgeon and his team had planned out. So 2 weeks liquids, had surgery, 2 more weeks just liquids...Lil over a month of just liquids! I know how frustrating and hard it is! You can do it though. Just have as many varieties, that are allowed, then it don't get too repetitive lol. sugar free popsicles and SF Jello really helped! Hope everything goes well! Good luck and just keep thinking of the end result and all the reasons why you chose to do this! You got this! HW: 419 SW: 341 CW: 314
  6. It kind of sounds like what I've been feeling, even before surgery. Exactly like how you put it, esp the reset part. But for me, I was diagnosed with degenorative osteoarthritis...I had to ask my doctor to request an xray, to see if that's what it was and turned out it was. Might want to maybe check on that, if it's not, good to rule it out! Good luck to you! HW: 419 SW: 341 CW: 319

    3 day post op

I don't know about ice cream, heard it might set back Weightloss BUT absolutely love sugar free popsicles, they taste great and help with keeping hydrated! I was sleeved on Nov 1st. Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App
  13. I'm 4 days out and having trouble keeping it down. My plan was to have 2 premier Protein shakes a day, I can barely finish half on 1! I know that's not good but it's making feel like phlegmy and full really fast that I don't want anymore for the day. Any suggestions? Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App
  14. Well I've told pretty much everyone in close with. My surgeon actually said I'm really lucky to have such an awesome support system. My family and I are real close and everyone is super excited and supportive. My fiancé has been on board from day one. Also the few coworkers I'm close with, they're all happy for me as well. The only people I haven't told, my fiancé's father and sister, i haven't told them because they're naturally negative first people and I don't care to know their opinions on my life choices! I guess I was surprised when my surgeon said I was lucky because I just assumed everyone else had the same support. If someone isn't supportive of something you want to do then just don't even bother with them. Misery loves company. Good luck to you! Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App
  15. My nutritionalist tried to sell me on those...but I told her I can't afford to buy that plus pay other books. She understood but I know they try to push it for more money. I'm sorry that's all you can eat...drink. my surgery is tomorrow and the past 2 week liquid was hard enough, I can't imagine having no options! Hang in there! 19. That's awesome, off to a great start. It's been 11 days of being on my liquid diet and I've lost 20lbs...almost 2lbs a day, kind of in shock. My surgery is in 4 days! Good luck to you and keep up the great job! Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App
  20. No. The purpose is to shrink your liver and make surgery safer. Alcohol is not allowed during this phase.I haven't had wine in almost a month now, since I got approved for surgery lol...figured it would be one thing I would have to stop sooner or later, so did it lol Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App
  21. Yes definately do the straining lol, my fiancé, luckily, doesn't like soup too much, so the part I strain he eats and get the soup lol. Even Progresso is good. Campbells hearty soups are delish! Enjoy! Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App Thank you for the tip, I'll definately try making my own, sounds yummy! 22. Oh and my fiancé didn't eat his meals on front of me either, until a few days ago, mostly because I said I could handle it and I'd be fine. I was wrong, totally broke down and cried because it smelt really good and my stomach wanted it. Didn't cheat though, just drank a lil bit of Water and left the room lol. It's harder then I thought but I know it'll be worth it! Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App
  23. Best of luck to you! Hey we're just 2 days apart, surgery wise. I have my VSG surgery on Nov 1st. I have to do a 14 day pre-op liquid diet, the best stained soup I did was Campbell soup, hearty beef pot roast, I think that's what it was called lol. My fiancé ate the meat and veggies and I had the soup part, really yummy. Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App
  24. Hi there...I am on day 9 of 14 pre-op, pretty much just liquid with sugar free Jello, Water, Powerade zero, and yes, Protein shakes...both pre-made and making my own. I've lost 16lbs, since starting this diet. Just wanted to share my experience so far. Good luck to you on your journey! It's harder then I had first thought it was going to be but just gotta keep reminding that it'll be worth it! Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App
