    Help!

I managed to convince the nurse that I needed to be seen. I went on Friday and my surgeons partner whom has only assisted on a couple of lap band surgeries attempted to take out Fluid. He stuck me 8 different times, he just couldn't get the port! Once I was home and looking at my stomach I realized he wasn't even in the right area! So I have to wait till my Dr. gets back on Tuesday! He told me to drink Ensure, guess he didn't get that I can barely take in any water! Now I am sore there on top of it all! I am managing to survive though, I am taking the tiniest sips of Water and gatorade to try to keep hydrated. I am sore all over and feeling weak but the good news is my new total weight loss is 71lbs! Thanks to all the support! It helps to know that there are people out there who understand what I am going through!

    Help!

I was banded April 18, 2008. I am down about 65 lbs, but still considered a slow loser. But that's not the problem, I can't even drink water, it started 5 days ago, at first I threw up everything I ate. So I tried shakes and soups and they come back up too. I am getting dehydrated, headache and my bodyaches! My surgeon is on vacation, but I called and spoke with the nurse and she told me i must be eating and drinking too fast! I can't even slowly sip water, it makes my chest feel like there is a bubble in it and it hurts! She said well you have been a slow loser because apparently you just eat and drink too fast and cause these problems yourself! Prior to this I thought I was at my "sweet spot" , then out of no where 4 weeks after my fill I'm this way. She said there is no way it could be an over fill problem because it would have happened sooner. Anyone with similar problems, I am very discouraged! As I sit here crying trying to figure out what I did wrong?! Any suggestions?

How long can you survive without Fluid...???

I am having a similar problem, had a fill almost 4 weeks ago and thought I had reached my "sweet spot". Then out of the blue I can't eat anything! I can take in tiny amounts of water, but my chest feels like there is a big bubble in it. I have been overfilled before, but knew right away, why was I good for 4 weeks? Oh yeah and my surgeon is on vacation, and he is the only one in my area to deal with lap band. Any suggestions or similar stories?

My nightmare hospital experience this weekend

I had a similar weekend to yours, not so bad though. I ended up at the emergency room Sunday evening because I could not stop throwing up, I had not eaten in almost 30hrs, so it was just bile, and dry heaves! I of course was worried the band could have slipped. I was treated well at the hospital, thank god, given i.v fluids because of the dehydration, anti-nauseau meds, and pepcid to settle my stomach. They also did x-rays to make sure there were no obstructions, which i knew there wasn't because I am still VERY careful about all food and plus hey i hadn't eaten in a long time. They sent me home at 10p.m, I was miserable all night! But I had stopped vomitting so I thought i just needed to rest, which I did, i did not get out of bed all day, had a terrible headache from dehydration. I didn't give my surgeon a call because i thought I was gonna be o.k. He called me! He wants me in his office tomorrow. I still am not eating, however i am drinking water, well forcing myself to. And it hurts when i take a deep breath right in between and below my breast. Hopefully i just have a sort of bug, i'll let you know! Good Luck to you I hope you feel better soon and get some real help from a Dr.!!!

Have ladies noticed that time of month

I was banded just over two weeks ago, and just started, my flow is the same, but I feel sooo bloated! I think maybe it's because I had just started noticing the weight loss and now feel like i gained it back.( I haven't though, i am still losing) Just seems weird I never noticed bloating before.
  10. On top? Gee whats that? Haha! I was just banded so not sure when, but look at it this way, It will happen sooner or later, hopefully sooner! Good Luck!!!
  11. I am 10 days post op and still have not had any hunger, I am only eating about 4oz of soup a day, about a 1/2c diluted apple juice, 6oz total of Unjury, water. It has been good so far. I found my two weeks pre-op liquid diet hard, I did cheat a little, and I was ok, I lost 13lbs in two weeks and I wonder just how much more I may have lost if I had not cheated! Good Luck!
  12. I had the same pain when taking a deep breath, it lasted just over a week. In the hospital I developed a slight fever because of the fluid in my lungs from surgery, had to cough it up. Then like 3-4 days after it hurt when i took a deep breath, I am 10 days post op and feeling like my old self! I doubted my decision the first couple of days, but all is well now!

    Just Banded

My Dr. said only Tylenol for OTC pain killer, and they just happen to make an adult formula in liquid form, it helped me get through the day. Just wanted to let the people headed for surgery to know. Good Luck Everyone!

    Just Banded

I was banded on the 18th, and I am still having what I believe to be gas pains too, my left shoulder and center of my chest bone. I'm hoping it's still the gas! I can tolerate the pain so I don't think t's anything else. It helps knowing that someone else is having similar pains a week later, OMG I still can't believe it has been one week already, such a long process and I can finally say post-op!
  15. I too am sensitive to smells, and the first couple of times I had Unjury I thought there is no way I can do this! A couple of days and I no longer thought it smelled bad or tasted bad either. Before surgery i even kinda enjoyed them. Now post-op I can't stand It! I am consuming maybe 60cals. a day! So i gotta find something, or get myself to like the taste again!
