This week I will get my 4th fill. I was banned the beginning of March and I have 4cc so far. My problem is that I have only lost 20 pounds. My last fill was the first time I notice a tightness. I spoke with the doctor and he was saying that sometimes it takes 4 to 5 fills before I get to the tightness I want. I guess my frustration is that everyone else is down 40 or more pounds and I am stuck at 20. I am not gaining - but I am not loosing. I am hoping that this next fill will be the one that will get me on my way. Has anyone else gone through this and what was the outcome?

I go Thursday to get a fill. I am going to ask what size band I have. I believe he said 10cc...but I am going to double check. I think I will also ask for a 2cc fill this time...although I do not believe he will do it. He seems to be pretty conserative. Although he has given me 1cc for the last 3 times. He told me last time to have patience (I guess I need to work on that). Thanks everyone for your comments - I really appreciate them. You know - I am not looking to loose 5 to 10 pounds a week like the R&Y but I would like to loose a steady 2.

I feel like it is working...I feeling the tightbess and I do have to eat fairly slowly. Forget eating a sandwich. But I can eat some meat and 1 piece of bread. I am hoping with the next fill - I can not eat any bread and that I am fuller quicker. I am keepig my fingers crossed for the sweet spot! It if just so strange to see that a person has only 1 or 2 fill and has as lost over 50 pounds. I spoke with a woman a few weeks back and she is down over 50 pounds...but her doctor has her follow a calorie count diet along with the band. My doctor does not do this. Hers is very effective - but I know people in my group that is just as effective without the diet. It really is different for everyone.

Hello, I was banded Feb 27th at DePaul hospital St Louis, MO by Dr de la Torre. If you are near or around the St Louis Area and looking for a doctor and group of people dedicated to the lap-band and other forms of weight loss. I would recommened Dr. de la Torre and the DePaul Weight Loss Group. I can not say enough nice things about them. I am going on 3 weeks past surgery and am feeling great. I have to say that my port area is still tender - especially if I am wearing tight waisted pants - but other then that - all is well. Hopefully the tenderness will get better as I loose weight and the waist band gets loose. I love this website and happy to meet everyone in the community.

8 days post op, hungry, no weight off
blueskies replied to cantweight2go's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I really appreciate the post. I just went in today to have the staples removed (7 days out of surgery). I only lost 1 pound and was feeling pretty low. When I told the surgeon and the nurse that I only lost 1 pound they did not blink. They said not to worry and that I have a long way to go. I really did not know what they were saying - I mean what does that mean? I know I have a long way to go - especially since I am eating next to nothing and loosing only 1 pound. But thanks to your post I feel much better. I am still pretty bruised and some of the openings are not healed 100 percent...so I will try to be a bit more patient. Hopefully some weight will drop off in the next couple of days. I am keeping my fingers crossed. (I have a fill scheduled in 4 weeks). -
I was banded on Feb 27th and have experienced the same thing. GasX is my buddy right now. I find at this time that I feel like I want to burp - but can not...I think it is air or gas build up. When I get the pain in the middle of my back I use extra strength GasX strips. They are working wonders for me.
