  3. So sorry you're experiencing this. I too work at a hospital and this is my greatest fear. I dont know how FMLA works... but as an ICU Nurse my work is fast paced and I feel I need a few weeks off post-op for my body to recover. However, its holiday time and if my employer can fight it.. I know they will because of staffing. My surgeons office submits for approval this week and I want my sleeve before New Years. My employer says they ask for 30days notice so Im checking into requesting FMLA this week. Can anyone tell me how this works? What I can expect? What am I required to tell them? What should I avoid? What was your experiences? Thanks and good luck everyone. Sent from Dee~Dee via BariatricPal
  4. Im very sorry to hear that. I know its unsettling but I hope you get your answer really soon and this will be a distant memory soon enough for you. Im going through Beltline Bariatrics in Atlanta. Requirements seemed very reasonable... Paperwork should be going to insurance for approval this week. We'll see how they do soon enough. Good luck to you. Sent from Dee~Dee via BariatricPal

    Weight gain

I've read where people say they've lost that much during the pre-op diet. Maybe you can test your "will power" a little early? Sent from Dee~Dee via BariatricPal

  16. I know its hard but dont get discouraged. Keep appealing because I've heard so many people have had the same experience but after several appeals they do get approved. Dont give up! Sent from Dee~Dee via BariatricPal
  17. Ptish-tosh. C'mon, folks, let's pretend to be grown-ups. This isn't the least entertaining. Will "run along" do it? Just kidding you. You know it. How about "girl bye"?Sorry....couldnt resist LOL Sent from my SM-N920T using the BariatricPal App Yeah, girl by! would have been equally appropriate and I was tempted... Lol I could have also attached several studies that have been done that show there is minimal indication that the pre-op diets have improved surgical outcomes (hence the reason that in certain areas surgeons no longer even require it). But truthfully I believe you should follow your surgeons orders, this is the way it has been done and it could only help, not hurt... so I opted not to. I just hate it when people judge other people and try to push their beliefs on others in that way. Especially since the original poster was so specific about that. Sent from Dee~Dee via BariatricPal
  18. @LipstickLady.... You should really consider another hobby... "no judgement" Sent from Dee~Dee via BariatricPal Seems to me like you want others to talk about it so you feel better about what you did.. But me having something off plan PRE op is a whole lot different than you trying to rip your stomach open by eating chicken breast n salad when it hasn't healed yet and you're still on liquids.. Thats your choice it would scare me Munky Sooooo..... Did anyone ever have the, "what happens when you ASSUME things" talk with you???.. might just want to review it before you make public posts. Just a thought. Sent from Dee~Dee via BariatricPal Wait. What was it you were saying about ASSuming? This is why I wished the previous poster good luck with the hunger thing. YOU might want to review it before you make public posts. http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/381323-hmmm/ Unless you have some type of healthcare degree.... As I do... Im not going to entertain you further.... Move on. Sent from Dee~Dee via BariatricPal

I havent had surgery yet but I know Ive read posts that say it's "hard" to get the fluids in. Some say try warm liquids vs cold. Did you get any answers yet? Perhaps the surgeons office can help. Sent from Dee~Dee via BariatricPal

  25. The biggest one is that they claim 30g of Protein from 15g of product and since grams are a weight measure, not quite sure how that happens. Read this thread or do a search http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/372406-genepro-too-good-to-be-true/ Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Oh, ok I see.
