Does anyone else have Pseudotumor cerebri?
ladygg1967 replied to Hiraeth's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Same here. I had the migraines for at least 3 years before I was diagnosed. My mom kept telling me it was just sinus pressure. But my gosh, the migraines were awful. A lot of women on the PTC/IIH Facebook group get so upset when their doctors advise them to lose weight. They feel like they're being attacked and belittled. But I've noticed that 90% of the people on that page are overweight. So, it's obvious that being overweight is a leading factor. Thanks so much! I am feeling so much better. Good luck to you, as well! I live in Alabama. Do you ever have leaky ears? My ears always get so wet with clear liquid. I'm in Philadelphia, PA. Hoping for a surgery date by the end of January 2017.....going on a 7day cruise the last week of April 2017 Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App -

BTW....I went from just wearing readers when I had a migraine to full on bifocals (vanity dictates progressive lenses-I refuse to wear glasses with that ugly line, + I think it'll make migraines/headaches worse) Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App -

ladygg1967 replied to Hiraeth's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I have it too! It was found by my opthomalogist during a routine exam a few years back. Funny thing is, I had the migraines for a bit before the diagnosis, but no one was sure what caused them. When the optho discovered the PTC, a discussion about my weight ensued.....Because of the tendency for this condition to be exacerbated by weight gain, I've tried to keep the weight to a minimum. As I get older, it's becoming harder to do.....thus I am now going thru the final stages before getting a surgery date for the SLEEVE. Good luck to you! What part of the country are you in? Hi everyone, Haven't got my surgery date yet-hoping for Jan 2017 (missed a few appointments so got pushed back)......Anyway, saw the NUT again; got quizzed on what food changes have been made so far. I'm on the right track (WooHoo!), so it was suggested that we (it was a class) try to get ready for the liquid phase of the pre-op by incorporating a daily Protein shakein our meals. I choose this one.......what do you guys think (BTW.....whey protein isolate is the 1st ingredient)? Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App

Had appointment with Pysch today.....good visit......he said based on my conversation with him and my history.....HE'LL APPROVE ME FOR SURGERY!!!! One more hurdle tackled....next up-appointment with surgeon. Hopefully all is well, paperwork can be submitted to insurance, and I can get a date by the end of January 2017! Good to know that Walmart has them. I got the SlimFast while in Shoprite.....was in Walmart earlier and didn't even think to check out their shakes. I'll finish this can because I don't want to waste money, but based on the comments, I don't think I'll repeat the purchase.......want to definitely get more bang for my buck. Will try the Premier RTD shakes and powders next. Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App

I know there are other protein powders that may have more protein/less sugar, but I figured this one had everything that's required so it'd b a good start.....I will say the quality has improved greatly since I tried it a few years ago.... Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App

Wish I had never told some friends about plan for WLS
ladygg1967 replied to ARNOLDSMB's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's what I did after I got some flicked responses from friends, family, and co-workers, plus I saw how stupid some family members were about another member's WLS (she's been very open with her journey.... I'm so proud of her.....her success is a big part of why I made the decision to have it). As far as people know, I'm still having surgery, and still waiting for my date, but I'm not having WLS.....I've got to have surgery to remove some adhesions/scar tissue from a prior "female surgery"; these adhesions have managed to wrap around my intestines and stomach, impeding my ability to properly digest/metabolize food.....remove the adhesions, solve the stomach/metabolism problem, lose weight. That's my story and I'm sticking with it! Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App -

Sounds like you carry yourself well....and they are hating because even though RIGHT NOW they're smaller than you are, they don't have that special something to pull off the things you wear. No problem with coverage from this insurer.......they began covering WLS as of 1/2015 or 2016 (I forget which year is correct).......also, depending on how your coverage is set up, they may cover Cosmetic Surgery after Weight Loss...... Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App -
