Stomach pain
Navigating the Wilderness replied to Robbiemyleah's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I'd talk to the surgeon. Chances are this is no big deal, but better to be on the safe side. -
Upset reschedule
Navigating the Wilderness replied to vegas_mimi's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It's a reschedule, not a denial. No need to go into a tailspin over it. Keep practicing healthy habits. -

VEGAN Better Than Bouillon Chicken & Beef flavor
Navigating the Wilderness replied to Seahawks Fan's topic in Vegetarian or Vegan Eating
Yes, but not much. I would add protein to either one post-op. And seriously, I would prefer the vegan as well, the chicken broth is NASTY. -
Post op care
Navigating the Wilderness replied to GassyGurl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Seems a bit excessive, but I would not worry about it. My surgeon was 1, 4, and 12 weeks, then every 3 months for a year. Every time I go it is so they can do blood work which is very useful in heading off any potential issues I may be developing due to the lack of vitamins etc. -
obsession getting out of hand
Navigating the Wilderness replied to lindabalseca's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Eh, no successful journey ever starts with someone waiting for something to fail. If you are putting as much effort into it as it sounds, you should be fine. -
Anyone ketogenic?
Navigating the Wilderness replied to flipper72's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You need to say the magic word @OutsideMatchInside and boom! All the keto info you need. -
Data Analysis, Machine Learning, Pattern Recognition & Weight Loss Prediction?
Navigating the Wilderness replied to Véronique's topic in Website Assistance & Suggestions
I suspect that would yield some interesting results, but it would have to be a huge number of people, and you would have to allow for other data sets like medications, co-morbid diseases, family history and a bunch of other HIPAA information. -
Hunger after surgery?
Navigating the Wilderness replied to FitFLTeacher's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have never not felt hungry, I just make sure to choose proper food to eat. It is easier to ignore the hunger now, but then again I am only 3 months post-op. -

VEGAN Better Than Bouillon Chicken & Beef flavor
Navigating the Wilderness replied to Seahawks Fan's topic in Vegetarian or Vegan Eating
They look good, and I truly despise chicken broth, but I don't see any protein in them and post-op EVERYTHING you eat should have protein in it. Just wanted to point that out. Maybe you have a protein you can add to it? -
Anyone have lap band out/sleeve in one surgery as outpatient?
Navigating the Wilderness replied to Allie1958's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had both at the same time 3 months ago, and while my Dr. required an overnight stay, I really think I could have done it as outpatient. I know I most definitely would have preferred doing it as outpatient. Hospital stays suuuuuck. -
Girlfriend is having major numbness
Navigating the Wilderness replied to kiechiro's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I also have sciatic issues in my legs from surgery, but this sounds different. I would not mess around if it is growing like you say. I'd highly recommend another ER visit. -
Insecure Ex
Navigating the Wilderness replied to LifeIsAllGood's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's more common than you think. It is also why my non-surgery wife has lost weight right beside me the whole time. Although she was not anywhere near as big as I was, we get to share our victory together and there are no weird feelings that come along with having only one person in the relationship go through a dramatic change. -

I have not had this surgery, but you are one of my favorites here, so wishing you all the best!!! -
Did anyone receive a card to order from kid menu?
Navigating the Wilderness replied to Rita48's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I received one for my Lap Band, but not for my VSG. I never really even thought about it because as others point out it is up to the restaurant anyway. -

Band Removal and Sleeve in one surgery ... what should I expect?
Navigating the Wilderness replied to Allie1958's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi @Allie1958, I had this done 3 months back. Pain-wise I didn't need anything more than a bit of liquid Tylenol once I was home. As for the time off, the first week I was exhausted, the second week I was ready to go back to work, but towards the end of that week I starting getting tired again. I took a third week off and was fine by week four. We all heal differently, but that was my experience. Best of luck!! -
36 but felt like 63...

Fantastic story. Thanks for sharing! -
Need advice!
Navigating the Wilderness replied to Nulife16's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Exercise will do nothing if you still eat bad. You have seen this first hand. Follow the Dr.'s plan like @OutsideMatchInside said. If you are having trouble following it, talk to your surgeon. Lots of people on here talk about how they have no hunger or have to force themselves to eat. That never happened with me, I still have cravings and am hungry. You just have to make the right choices. It is the only way for long-term success. -
Know it all bandsters
Navigating the Wilderness replied to A_new_sara's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
The band never worked for me. It was not 100% the band's fault, it just was not a good match for me. I'm sorry you have been feeling this way especially when you self-paid. Hopefully you can find a way to still make it work, but I totally understand the anger. -
Feeling uglier
Navigating the Wilderness replied to anthonyb's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
You have seriously been told by people that you are too ugly to date? Where are you looking for these women? -
Unflavored Protein
Navigating the Wilderness replied to FlyMe's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yeah, I think anything over 145 degrees or so will clump the protein. Keep the temp warm instead of hot to avoid this issue. -
Good protein powder?
Navigating the Wilderness replied to heylizzyclay's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Here is another vote for Unjury and Isopure. Premier protein tastes better than either of those, but it also has more carbs and calories per ounce. -
One week out. What I miss most may surprise you.
Navigating the Wilderness replied to itstime4me123's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yeah, I felt that way too during the first couple weeks. At 3 months I have 0 problem with ice water.
