5 days post op & weak !! Please tell me it gets better
sarahblu replied to Sugarnspice's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Allow your body to heal, eat and drink what you can (even though it seems so small and not enough) and just be patient. Once your body heals and readjusts to your new stomach, you will be able to eat/drink more, move more and have energy. I had the same concerns and my nutritionist assured me that at my 6 month appointment I would feel like a completely different person! At about 2.5 months, I turned that corner and have felt amazing ever since. Everyone is different...just listen to your body...you will get there! -
So fun!! You are doing an amazing job!! You will be out of plus sizes before you know it and then the world of endless clothing possibilities will surround you!

Keep us posted! Good job so far...keep up the good work! -
It will seem so slow right now but all of a sudden you will wake up, surgery done, pounds lost and a new way of life! Then it goes as fast as that year where nothing happened and you regretted not losing the weight. You can message me anytime. [emoji6]

Um, yes...totally worth it!!! Think of how many times you started loosing weight or wanted to and then a year later you realized you were still the same. So frustrating that yet ANOTHER year went by and nothing. Start the process, do the steps, be patient and it will all fall into line when it's supposed to. Don't give up and let another year of nothing go by...

You look so happy!! Amazing job! Keep inspiring! -
It's been an amazing ride for the last 5 months! On my surgery date, September 17, 2016, I weighed 260lbs. As of today, almost 5 months later, I am at 185. Down 75 glorious pounds! Only 40 or so more pounds to go!! I am such a cheerleader of wls! I feel that if there is a way to better your health, image and sanity, then go for it!

It's so normal to be anxious...most of us have lived our entire lives as heavy people and can't imagine being any other way. The surgery itself can be scary and the liquid phases aren't much fun. But, let me tell you from my experience, waiting the 6 months for inaurance and then having a few complications in the beginning...I would go through that again to be where I am today! I am 5 months out (already!!) and am down 75 lbs! I have a ton of energy, eat to live and enjoy my small pant size! Don't let the anxiety get to you too much...it will pass...just go day by day.

Great job! Keep inspiring!!

Sounds like you are in such a good place with your decision! I applaud you for your courage and patience. Half of the success is in your head. Attitude, positive thoughts and straight willpower are all what will help make your journey a success. You so got this!

It is such a challenge to change the way we think about loosing weight. Remember your tummy had surgery, not your mind so you can resort to old thinking and believing until you learn that this time it's different. You will loose, it just takes time and patience. I gained (GAINED) weight after surgery because I had to go back into the hospital...you will get there if you just follow your plan and let your new body work for you. I am now almost 5 months post and am down 72 lbs! One day at a time, friend. You got this! Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App

Warning eat your protein/vitamins!!!!! 8mths post op Gastric bypass
sarahblu replied to curlysue86's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No fun feeling so bad! I think this experience right here is a great reason to have the surgery. You almost have no choice. Your new body will only allow you to be slack for a short time and then it will kick you in the rear. You are forced to do what is right or you will end up in the hospital. Without the surgery, we would just have our pity party, feel crappy, and then just go back to bad habits. I learned some very valuable lessons after my surgery with being very sick. I purposely choose wisely everyday so I won't experience that pain or sickness again!! You are stronger then you think, so look at an old photo at your worst and remind yourself how amazing you are and then get back on track!! Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App -
Outpatient sleeve anyone?
sarahblu replied to Belle_Mimi's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had outpatient with my sleeve. As long as I could go to the bathroom on my own and didn't have any issues walking, I was allowed to go home. It really wasn't a big deal. Good luck!! Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App -
I hate that there are people like this all around us! We all made a positive and healthy decision and for once truly took control over our lives! Some people just can't rally behind you...whether it be jealousy, strong opinions etc. Mostly, they have low self esteem and instead of focusing on themselves, they attack you. I am very sad for those people. Just trust in yourself and your journey! If they were meant to be in your life, it will work itself out. If not, rid yourself of the negativity! Good luck and congrats on your progress...you are a rock star!! Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App

Newbie...only 8 days post op and have questions
sarahblu replied to healthyliving23's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I felt the same way...it can be a challenge not watching the scale like a hawk! Just follow the plan and not beat yourself up along the way...it WILL come off! This isn't like every other diet you have been on. Just remember, you will hit some stalls along the way...totally normal but so annoying! Good luck on your journey!
