How will I take my pills?
shadowmountain replied to Arthur Dent's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I found the best way is to crush and add to either orange juice or apple juice. Mine tasted horrible in pudding & yogurt. Sent from my SM-N910V using BariatricPal mobile app -
Im confusted on stage 3
shadowmountain replied to carlychloe2's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It took me a few days to figure it out too. You can add some protein powder to your meals, peanutbutter is high in calories - but also has protein. Cheese is good for calories & ptotein. Sent from my SM-N910V using BariatricPal mobile app -
Itchy belly? (all over, not just healing incisions)
shadowmountain replied to dberthelot02's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yep, I've had an itchy belly. I'm 4 weeks post-op. Dr. said normal. I put some baby oil on my skin if it gets too bad. -
4 weeks post op steal dealing with intense pain
shadowmountain replied to Ashley~'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 4 weeks tomorrow and have slight pain behind my big incision. At 2 weeks post-op I was still in alot of pain, so I purchased an abdominal binder. It was the best thing I could have done. I wore it during the day for about 10 days. Don't need it anyway, and I feel like I have healed. Maybe try that. -
I am 3 weeks out, and I had the indent behind my big incision too. It hurt, stung, felt like internal stitches were pulling. It is just now going away. I was told some surgeons place internal stitches behind the big incision to your abdominal wall. If you have the indent, you probably had that done. My experience has been if I try to do too much, that area hurts more. So take it easy and give yourself some time to heal. I also purchased an abdominal binder that helped so much! Good luck....

Me too - my upper left side behind and around my big incision keeps grabbing me with a sharp stitch pain when I gently twist or reach for anything. I'm 2 weeks out. -

Crushing your pills
shadowmountain replied to FLABOY50's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have to crush for 6 months. I was trying to mix it with yogurt, pudding, and smoothies. It was horrible tasting and making me sick and nauseous. Someone told me not to mix with anything sweet, but mix with something acidic. So today I put it in some orange juice. What a lifesaver. Wasn't perfect, but oh so much better. Very tolerable. -

BEST STORE BOUGHT BROTH
shadowmountain replied to ThickGirl5683's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My NUT recommend Trader Joe's Organic low sodium chicken broth. It is way better than the other brand names I bought at the grocery store. I dump a little pepper and garlic or onion powder in it too. -
Im also getting sleeved on 3/28. Woo hoo - excited and nervous!

Started 30 Day Pre-Op Liquid Diet Today
shadowmountain posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have done great all day, and was looking forward to some chicken broth tonight. The chicken broth on my list must be 140 mg or less of sodium per serving. I found some Campbell's on-line. IT TASTES LIKE DIRTY FEET! And it smells even worse. I tried dumping some pepper in it - didn't help - ugh..... -

shadowmountain replied to shadowmountain's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My broth has to have less than 140mg of sodium per serving. Very hard to find. I finally found Trader Joe's Organic chicken broth that is decent. All the low sodium broth at the grocery stores have about 600+ grams of sodium -

shadowmountain replied to mjacobs10's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am also scheduled for surgery 3/28. I had to do a 30 day liquid pre-op. Not so bad so far, but 4 weeks of only liquids is a long time. Where is your surgery? -
