  1. I can understand. Winter will be brutal for me too trying to figure it all out. One last thing do not be surprised if your tastes change. Mine did. Things i liked before not so much now. After 44 years i now prefer the taste of coffee and i never liked coffee before. I liked ham and cheese nope cannot stand it. So do not be surprised. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  2. It is a great journey! I am 6 months post op and lost 80 pounds so far. I have more energy than before. Make sure you walk as much as possible after surgery to help with the gas pains. Warm liquids helps it to pass too. You will feel hungry post but make sure you have some broth it will help curb that hunger. If Protein shakes make you ill you might be lactose intolerant, it happens post surgery. Stick to your meal plans and follow with the NUT regularly. Chew slow and carefully because it will hurt if it gets stuck. Do not drink while eating it will re-expand your stomach and that will hurt. Good luck and feel good soon Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. I lost 24 pounds on that pre-op diet and shrunk my liver so they could do the surgery. I am amazed at the enormous differences from hospital to hospital on what diets should be. I never did pureed foods. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  5. At 18 days you should be sticking to your meal plans/stages. This means do not eat what isn't on the list. My birthday was 4 1/2 months post op and i did not have cake. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Find another doctor. I was in hospital 2 days. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  12. I had gas pains from the Protein powder shakes but not the ready made kind. I also had a sharp pain under my belly button but everyone handles it differently. I had my gall bladder out years before this and it was no worse than that. I handled Fluid intake well where a coworker could not keep anything down for weeks after. Make sure you take a stool softener for constipation Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  13. I am 6 months post and just drank last week. You WILL get DRUNK a lot FASTER. I was 2 sips into a drink and i was feeling what would normally take 2 drinks to do. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Can't get my protein in..

My nutritionist says do what you can. But even if you keep up with the Fluid intake you should be fine. There are a ton of shakes out there try them all if you have to until you find one you like or can handle the taste of Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  15. I have the hardest time with my routines at work. I am not allowed to drink or eat on sales floor but if you have a job that you can (like in an office) it should not be too hard to stick to your routine. Also if you have to set yourself reminder timers when you should eat or drink. Staying hydrated is the most important thing above all else. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
