I was sleeved on 3/31, lost about 13 lbs. within about 8 days and now have not lost a lb. in about 10 days. It does get discouraging, but from what everyone else said it will pass....hopefully sooner rather than later Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app

No liquids for 24 hours normal?
Syaniya replied to evesta's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It depends, my surgeon did the leak test while I was still under, so I was allowed ice chips when I woke up and then clear liquids. Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app -

Well I would say thst if in 3 months she decides to just sit around there's a problem. Im 2 weeks post op and didnt feel like doing much. Today was my first day back to work and I feel as if I got in as many steps today as I have in the last 2 weeks, lol. I definitely understand being worried and wanting to motivate her, but give her a few it is a surgery and a life change. Not eating but 500 calories a day also doesnt give us much energy. Give her time then ask her to go for a walk with you you keep you company. Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app

Toast or crackers with meals
Syaniya replied to Carmencita!981's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I tried it preop when I saw you post it, although with regular not sugar free preserves and it was great. I'm only 2 weeks out today and not sure the preserves is allowed yet, but cottage cheese is and is a lifesaver for me [emoji4] Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app -
I was fine after about 4 days. I also had no gas whatsoever from surgery. Everyone is different though. You should be good, drink plenty of fluids and I'm from Boston and believe me there are plenty of places to stop to rest. Enjoy your trip here Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app

I was 246 back when I started my 6 month program, I am 5'6". I am not sure what my goal weight should be, once I lose I'll see where im comfortable at. I am 42 and since my 1st son was born 26 years ago, have been over 200, so I dont really know where I'll look and feel good. Also, I just noticed you put Albuquerque support, lol, sorry I'm in Boston, but since we were sleeved the same day, I'm sure we can support one another [emoji4] Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app

Seems a lot slower than most, but have already hit a stall. Been 214-213 for the last 5 days How are you feeling since surgery? Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app

Unable to get food down & not enough protein
Syaniya replied to ulalume's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
But some Fairlife milk and "water" down the Premier protein shakes. Fairlife milk has a good amoumt of protein and it will make it thinner so you may have a better chance of hetting it down. Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app -
Help?!! Does insurance cover the vitamins and protein shakes???
Syaniya replied to Jmf's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
try www.insurenutrition.com for the shakes. You apply and theyll put it through your insurance to see if they will approve it. They have premier protein and Optisure. I get 4 cases a month of Premier Protein. Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app -

Syaniya replied to SarahNKY's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Not sure if youll be able to go back in 8 days or not, I was sleeved 8 days, ago and could definitely have went back today, but my surgeon requores 14 days out. Also, are you going to be able to sip water all day in school? Also, if you experonece nausea, it may be the pain medicine you are on, once they awitched me i didnt habe any more nausea. Good Luck! Well I personally am not afraid of needles, but just wanted to let you know that they insert 1 pic line into your arm or hand and leave itcthere forvthe duration. Well most surgeons do. This way the only needle you get is the first one, after that everythibg gets inserted into your line, you dont even feel it. Also, maybe you can,ask them to put you to sleep first then insert your line, just a thought. Good Luck!!!! Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app

Eat smaller bites and sip smaller sips. I had the same problem and when i sip just enough to wet my mouth more often it doesnt hurt in my chest. Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app -
Youll probably be doing it for 2 weeks after surgery too. My doc only required 1 day clear liquids before surgery, but 2 weeks after. This 2 weeks is still hard, got 1 week left to go Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app
