I said nothing about the doctor knowing best, I gave the op the min. requirements for most insurance companies in regards to bmi and comorbities, because thats what they were asking about, not who would know best. Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app

You can go online and look up your insurance requirements. Most insurances require bmi over 40 only for eligibility, comorbities are not required with a bmi that high. Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app

Sorry no one has responded to you, I cant help as my surgeon only required 1 day of a liquid diet before surgery. You may be better off searching liquid diet, click on a discussion thats already in the works, instead of starting a new thread. That way anyone who has responded to that thread will get a notification and you may be able to get more responses. Good luck on your upcoming surgery!![emoji4] Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app

Congrats and dont be scared of the gas. I had absolutely NONE! I too was all worried and prepared for the pain because of the stories. I actually had a pain pump and kept hitting the button in anticipation of the gas, lol. Pain meds made me nauseous and after they switched me to percocet, no pain, never had gas, great recovery. Remember that everyone is different, pray for a painless, gasless recovery. See you on the sleeved side [emoji4] Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app

Congrats you are doing an amazing job!!! You gave me my current favorite meal...cottage cheese with sf preserves, lol. Thanks for all your input on these boards for us newbies. Your knowledge has been extremely helpful to myself and many others. Keep it up Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app -
You may not have a catheter, I know I didnt. The surgery was just over an hour, so they said they saw no need for it. Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app

My program allows premier protein. Also try to submit your information to insurenutrition.com and see if your insurance will approve the shakes for you. It takes about a week or two to find out. I get 4 cases of 18 a month, although they only have choc, van, and strawberry. Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app

Weight loss 6 weeks post vsg
Syaniya replied to Ren33vsg's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, it can get very frustrating. Keep doing what we are supposed to do and it will all work out in the end. Peoples metabolisms are all different and everyones journey is different. Hopefully the slower loss will help with excess skin, lol. Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app -
Weight loss 6 weeks post vsg
Syaniya replied to Ren33vsg's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Breakfast an oikos yogurt, snack a slice of cheese or cheese stick, lunch cottage cheese or tuna package, afternoon snack more cheese. dinner normally whatever meat I cook for the family for dinner, plus the veggies or just cottage cheese again. For instance if I make them burgers, I'll just have mine in a bowl with tomatoes, pickles, and ketchup, no roll. Protein shakes to supplement if I'm short on protein for the day. Actually she told me to stop taking my calcium pills today as I was getting too much calcium. I have to keep track and not get too much calcium in or I'll get I think she said calcium deposits or something like that. One less pill I have to take work's for me [emoji4] Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app -

Go but Flintstones Childrens chewables, take 2 a day sepearately. Cheap and they have the nutrients we need to supplement. Just came from 6 week checkup, a week late, im 7 weeks tomorrow and have only lost 23. They were happy with results said keep it up. Pushing me to get to 1,000 calories though. I normally get about 700 or so. Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app -
I am on my feet for a good 4 hours at work, so I really have to push and keep walking. I definitely have my lazy days and habe to kick myself to get moving. I have a customer at work who had bypass 2 years ago, he lost about 80 lbs initially and has gained most of it back already. Every time I want to kust sit at the desk I think of him. He came in yesterday and asked how much Ive lost and when I told him about 20, he said thats not good!!! I was in awe, like are you serious dude, you cant even tell you ever had wls!!! Yes, I thinl I need to try stepping up the workouts. I do get about 12k to 15k steps in daily at work, but for now thats about the extent of it. After working all day, coming home to get dimmer cooked for the fam, then cleaning up I can honestly say I am beat most days. Maybe ill get some extra wind soon Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app

I found these at my local store for $1.99 for a very tiny bag. Is there anywhere cheaper you found them? Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app -
I am 6 weeks out and have had one bruise about the size of a fist right near my main incision. I asked my surgeon at 2 week checkup and he said no worries, pretty common. Also, its about 6 shades greener and purple still at 6 weeks out Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app

Thats Awesome to hear. I am a slow loser, well at least I feel I am. It seems like I stall every 2 weeks for lile 3 weeks, lol. I am down 21 lbs. and am about 6 weeks out. Seems good, but I lost 13 lbs. in the first about 8 or 9 days. I am not letting it get to me though, I keep pushing. Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app

Try not to compare yourself to any one elses loss. I get on here and see people losing 40 lbs. in 2 months and yes it gets depressing when im barely losing. I have beeb sleeved for 6 weeks now. On sleeved date was 226, about 8 or 9 days later was down about 13 lbs. and there I stayed for almost 3 weeks. Lost about 2-3 lbs, and then stayed the same for the next 2 weeks, now just in the last few days have lost another 2 lbs. So it shows I'm down about 20 lbs in 6 weeks. I am following my surgeons plan though, I know I could get in more water but that has always been a struggle for me. It could also depend on your surgeon's plan. From day 2 we are allowed cottage cheese, pudding, yogurts, anything soft. Many people are on 2 weeks or more of liquid diet. Just keep following the plan they gave you and success will be yours!
