I'm still about 4 months out as I just started the process ???? I wish I started everything 6 months ago when I was researching it, but couldn't make up my mind. Thought I could lose it on my own...again. After about 5 months and only going down 10 lbs. gave in and knew I needed just a little help. Hoping to be sleeved by Feb. he said long as everything goes as planned. Good luck this week and keep us posted. Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App

Come on mamalisa268 you can do it. I went for my 1st appt. with my surgeon the other day and told him I'm a smoker, he said well if we are getting healthy by having the surgery, we need to be healthy all around or it will be for naught. I asked him when I had to quit by and he laughed at me and said today. He was joking with me, but said I have to. He does a nicotine test and will not do surgery if I'm still smoking. I obviously have a few months, but am not going to wait that long, I currently use a vape, and will just start using it more and more. Try drinking Water whenever you want a cigarette, it may help you with you water intake you are definitely going to need soon. Also try sacking sugar free lollipops for now, it may give you the hand to mouth action that we crave. It is mind over matter at this point, you only have a few days left and please try your hardest not to smoke anymore, your body needs great circulation for your upcoming surgery. What would you like more, your sleeve or another cigarette. Come on you can do it for yourself, your kids, and your health???????? Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App

Initial appointment frustration
Syaniya replied to missionslimmom's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
where did you hear that they don't have the 6 month requirement? On their site it says that and also my dr. Office, whom I imagine has also dealt with them before also said that. Do you have it in writing or can direct me online, I'd love to know if that's not the case. I also have tufts health direct. I just finished Omaha also, did you likev the program? Initial appointment frustration
Syaniya replied to missionslimmom's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I also have tufts and they do require 6 monthly consecutive visits. these can also include visits with your pcp, nutritionist, surgeon. I just had my initial appt with the surgeon last week, and he was very optimistic. Since I had 1 appt. last month with pcp last month, he said that, would be considered my 1st visit. We are the same stats and he wants me to lose 12 lbs. before surgery date. These next few months are filled with nut visits, and all types of testing, he said they'll fly by and my 6th visit will be my pre-op visit before surgery. There is a program at St. Elizabeths in Brighton, sometimes you have to drive a little to work with a great surgeon and weight loss team. It will be worth it in the long run. Definitely talk to another surgeon to get another opinion. Good Luck!!???? Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App -

Cellucor COR-performance protein
Syaniya replied to OhHeyMarina's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Have you tried the premier Protein shakes? The chocolate and banana don't taste bad at all. The banana is a little bit sweet, but you could always add some almond milk to Water it down if it's too sweet for you. Plus, they have 30g of protein each. So you would need only 3 to get in your protein goal after surgery. I haven't had surgery yet and think they are good, hope my taste for these doesn't change after surgery as some people's tastes have changes. Many people say don't stock up on anything specific for v this reason. Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App -
I've heard to chew each bit about 20 times, pretty much getting it as mushed as can be. Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App

Hi all! I am new here as I am just starting my journey. I was wondering if anyone had sleeve surgery in mass using tufts health plan. If so, how long did It take from first appt until surgery? I have my first appt coming up this week and just wondering if it's a 6 month wait like I've seen some people say. Thanks for any help.
