My surgeon requires that I'm smoke free for 60 days prior to surgery. Hoping for my surgery date on 3/6 when I see him. I was a pack a day smoker up until New Years. Until Monday, I only had 2 packs that lasted me from New Year and today have now been over 72 hours smoke free!!! Can't say it has been easy, but I want my surgery more than the cigarettes. My surgeon did all my labs in November when I was smoking and will also do labs right before surgery. If I smoke surgery cancelled. I must say I am vaping but 0 Nicotine. Mine also saw me for 4 weekly visits. Some just really want to get to know you before they sign off saying your mentally stable to have wls. Just think of it as a venting session to an unbiased person. Mine just let me talk about work, family, anything I wanted. 35 lbs in less than 2 months seems Awesome to me. Could you have lost 35 lbs in such a short time before vsg?? Your body has been through a major change and it is still figuring out what is going on. Also, you seem lucky and don't really look like you had much of a stall. Many people have 2 or 3 weeks of no loss, so good work. Hey @@vegbeth it's great that you are still seeing the therapist, I am also still meeting with with mine. She was super easy to talk to, so I asked her if I could continue coming at least once a month and she was more than happy to keep me on. This journey definitely helps if you have someone unbiased to speak to. You have been through lots of changes in these last month's. From moving back here to take care of your mom, then onto taking steps for a healthier you. Just think once your healed, you'll go skiing again and get to do many of the things you enjoyed doing. Getting out of the house even for a short amount of time will make you feel good. Although with this cold weather, I'm not sure, but you love skiing so you're used to the cold Have you looked into any of the support groups at the office that meet? Maybe just taking that hour once a week will help as you'll be with people who are going through the same feelings and emotional roller coaster you're on. So glad your feeling good and haven't had too many of the problems some peole do. You did amazing preop and will continue to do awesome post op. Keep thinking positive thoughts and know that this is as much a mental journey as it is a physical one, but you will overcome. I did all my testing yesterday at the hospital from 8-12, and everything looked good except a small sliding hiatal hernia the tech said. Hes,sending everything over to doc so will see what he says on Wed at my next appt. Im here if you ever need to vent/talk. Good luck, by now you should be sleeved and up walking trying to get rid of those gas pains. You'll feel so much stronger knowing YOU did this!!!!! When I go in for surgery my husband won't be able to go either as we have 2 kids he'll have to take care of, so I'll also be alone. You can do it ????
