C'mon doc/nut....No nailpolish!
Syaniya replied to 10stackzz's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow, she refused??? Crazy, if their fake she couldve just put them back on as soon as she got out of the hospital, now she could wait months for another surgery date. After jumping through all the hoops we have to, Id tell them cut them right off now. -
Congrats, 3/31 here

Mine is the 31st. Where are you having your surgery done?

Why liquids for preoperative diet?
Syaniya replied to deflationinprogress's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Every surgeon has their own program. My surgeon only has us do the day before surgery of Clear liquids. He said he doesnt need the liver to shrink he can move it out of the way to reach the stomach with no problem. Every surgron is different though. -

Surgery is a week away and I'm getting over a cold...
Syaniya replied to vsg2266's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It shouldnt be, ive seen many people throughout the mo.ths post the same thimg and their surgeries still went forward as planned -
No, it shouldnt. My surgery is scheduled gor 3/31 and my surgeon does not habe any of his patients do a pre op diet for weeks. Our pre op diet is the day before surgery just clear liquids. He said he can get past our liver no matter how big it is and he doesnt think its right having us stressed out about it. Dont worry about it, but just remember that slipping up after surgery is not going to be an option. Your stomach is very raw and needsvto heal properly and a bean burrito will not help that Move on, dont stress, and keep looking forward, not backward.

No, suggestions. Just got my date yesterday for 3/31 and my thoughts are consumed. I wish i could wake up and it was 3/31 tomorrow [emoji4] Try and keep busy and it will go by quick. It seems like yesterday i kust started my 6 month program, was so impatient I was ready to go to Mexico, but hubby would not go for it [emoji20] Now Im a mere 3 weeks away from a new beginning. It will be here before we know it.

Anyone put off surgery?
Syaniya replied to Cateyez001's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It depends on your insurance, but my surgeon told me my approval was good for a year, your insurance may be the same or have a different time limit. -
Congrats, it'll be here before you know it. I'm right behond you on the 31st...cant wait

Cheating on the liquid diet
Syaniya replied to ebarclay's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have 2 girls 10 and 11 and they always leave food on their plate. When are you scheduled for surgery? Every surgeon is different, my surgeon said the preop diet is not necessary and he's a top bariatric surgeon in Boston. He said he can get to the stomach no matter what and he doesnt think we need the added stress before surgery. I will have Clear liquids the day before and since I started 6 months ago the nut had had me make many changes, one at a time so they stick with me. No diet whatsoever, but lifestlye changes. -
Cheating on the liquid diet
Syaniya replied to ebarclay's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeon doesnt require a preop diet, just clear liquids 1 day before, so im relieved about that. I totally know where you are coking from because i do the same thing. Half the time i dont even make myself a plate and just eat their leftovers, lol. -
Submitted to insurance
Syaniya replied to heatherfeather81's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Did you go through a program yet? This is normally somethingbyour surgeon would find out right away before wasting time. There are a few options, wait until open enrollment and switch insurance companies. Self pay may be an option. Id also look up your insurance compamy online and check to male sure they truly dont cover it Some will say they dont unless its medically necessary, which a doctor could work with them depending on your medical issues. Good Luck! -
They called and asked if a certain date was good. For me it was, but if not they had further out dates. Some insurances once approved will allow the approval to be good for a period of time. My insurance approval was good for a year, so im sure youll be able to get a date that works for you.

Congrats
-
Yes, glad it was. The wait is very stressful, my anxiety was through the roof, lol
-
I got mine today and mine was submitted on Monday also....surgery scheduled for 3/31.

I guess it would depend on your insurance if you can see it or not. Funny thing is online it still shows pending, but my surgeons office called after they received the faxed approval.
