    I can understand post op, but preop there are many, including my surgeon who does not have their patients do any type of preop diet. We are required to just have clear liquids the day before surgery. With that being said, you should always adhere to what your surgeon tells you. Post op it could be life threatening if you do not follow the doctors instructions.

    My surgeon allows us to use straws as long as we arent sucking kn too much air and it causes us to feel uncomfortable.

    Well every surgeon is different. At 3 days I can have pudding, custard, cottage cheese, and all liquids, yogurts, jello, etc...as long as its sugar free. I see so many different plans posted on here, but the best thing to do is follow your surgeons orders.

    Well for me the 6 month waiting period initially seemed like it would take forever, but now being a few weeks away, seems as if its dragging. Im getting sleeved on 3/31 and Im just trying to keep busy and pray these next 16 days and some odd hours fly by, lol

    Most insurances go by your starting weight. My surgron requires us to lose 5% of our weight to show we can make lifestyle changes.

    Try not to think about it. Keep yourself busy getting ready for your big day. Mix it up with different broths, shakes, crystal light flavors. I saw someone post about mixing a vanilla premier protein shake with Crushs Orange powdered sugarfree mix and they said it tasted like a Creamsicle

    Yes, he is Awesome!!! No, he does not have us do a preop diet either. We just have to do clear liquids the day before and nothing after midnight. How long ago did your cousin have surgery and how is she/he doing?

    That is so sad. Taking off fake nails is a small proce to pay for surgery. Wow, she couldve been at her goal weight in 18 months and comorbity free, so sad for her I dont think anything could hold me back from my date now. These past 6 months seemed to drag, I would lose my mind waiting 18 more momths. Every surgeon and hospital is different though and whatever they say goes.
