Best portable protein snacks?
MsSara replied to Michilingi's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've found good Protein choices have changed throughout the process. At first, cheese sticks were a good choice. Now I like toasted almonds (I buy them raw and toast in the toaster oven). I like some Protein Bars, but prefer these kinds of options. But you are right to carry something with you. My blood sugar can nose-dive very quickly and I need to eat something immediately no matter where I happen to be at the time. This continues 1.5 years out from surgery. -
Vitamins <--- AGAIN HELP!
MsSara replied to rusticlemon's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I found that the chewables and the gummies both tasted bad and didn't have enough nutrients. Try Isotonix. powder that you mix with Water that tastes good and is really superior in nutrition. I take on an empty stomach and wait 15 minutes for full absorption. I noticed a positive change as soon as I started to take Isotonix. -
I use Isotonix, which are powder Vitamins which you mix with Water. The nutrient value is amazing. I felt healthier as soon as I started to use them -- and they taste great!

I never had that exact problem, but I've discovered an amazing product that really resolve my digestive discomfort. It's called Ultimate Aloe and it's better than the Rx they gave me after surgery! Amazingly soothing for the stomach and rest of the digestive system! You can get it at this site: http://www.forbariatricpatientsonly.org/

I've tried every Protein recommended, and finally found one that mixes easily, tastes great, and provides a good amount of protein. It's called TLS and there are 2 varieties at this site: http://www.forbariatricpatientsonly.org/ I use half the recommended servings so it is very economical, and I also add in MochaTonix for great energy (again, only half a serving). I drink this every morning and it holds me until lunch most days. When I need more protein, I add a scoop to some decaf coffee. Healthy yum!

I've recently discovered powder Vitamins that you mix with Water -- and I noticed a positive difference in how I felt as soon as I started using them. And they taste great. Isotonix -- here is the combination I use (has iron): http://www.isotonix.com/product/isotonix-daily-essentials-kit-with-iron/?skuName=Isotonix%C2%AE%20Daily%20Essentials%20Kit%20%28With%20Iron%29%20-%20Includes%20Multivitamin%20with%20Iron%20%2890%20servings%29,%20OPC-3%20%2890%20servings%29,%20Activated%20B-Complex%20%2890%20servings%29%20and%20Calcium%20Plus%20%2890%20servings%29&id=6466&idType=sku I was told to mix, wait for 2 minutes, drink on an empty stomach -- then wait for 15 minutes to achieve maximum absorption. Much preferable to all other vitamins I tried -- which were mostly "yuck" and lacking in nutrient value. I feel healthier than ever!

Protein Bar Recommendation?
MsSara replied to taurus71's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Many of the Protein bars either don't taste great or leave me feeling poorly. Have you tried Choice? The Brownies and Cream Energy bar is 15 grams of protein, 5 grams of Fiber and 3 grams of sugar -- best of all GLUTEN FREE! You can get them, and my favorite protein (TLS) and energy powder (MochaTonix) at this site: http://www.forbariatricpatientsonly.org/
