Hi Jess30, I am so excited about my band and I am to the point now that I can exercise again. Wednesdays and Thursdays are the best days for me to get out of the house but on the 26st I am having my first fill so maybe I could eat soup the next day. How long have you been banded?

Hi everyone! I live in Beavercreek too and I was banded on Feb. 26, 2008 by Dr. Curry in Cincinnati. I would love to have supportive friends in my area to keep me on track! I have lost about 14 pounds so far and I am healing very well.

Banded Feb 26, 2008 and lost 12 pounds! Congrats everyone those are some great numbers!!!!:crying:

My Doctor suggested hard sugar-free candy to suck on after surgery. Sugar-free jollyranchers are my favorite.:crying:

Hi, I was banded on Tuesday Feb. 26, 2008 and I was off pain meds by the following Sunday. I think I am recovering very nicely :teeth_smile:. Gas X really helps for the gas pains and I heard from others who have been banded longer than me that the gas pains will slow and then be off and on for a few weeks. But just remember the hard part is over now and we just have to watch the weight fall off :crying:.

I am so sorry to hear about your surgery and the aftermath. Does the doctor who performed the surgery take responsibilty for the broken rib?

Hi, I posted about the very same problem today. I was banded 1 week ago today and lost 12 pounds before surgery. I am just as frustrated as you but other people on the site have told me this is very normal in the first week and you might all of a sudden lose 5 pounds after your body gets used to the band. I just wanted you to know I am in the same boat you are and we just need to keep positive. WE WILL LOSE WEIGHT!!!

After 1 week I am more able to sleep how I like (on my tummy). So it just takes time and you should rest better very soon. :biggrin:

Hey all, I lost 12 pounds before the band on the medifast liquid diet that my doctor put me on 2 weeks before surgery but since I was banded 1 week ago I have not lost anything. According to physicsdiet.com (what I use to track my weight loss) I am still eating a deficient of 1200 calories a day....so why am I not seeing anything :biggrin: Did anyone else have this problem?

I was banded by Dr. Trace Curry in Cincinnati, OH at Jewish Hospital. People come from all over the world to be banded by him and he does more bands in a year then anyone else in Ohio. I think he is just awesome and his staff is incredible!
