Rash on Stomach and Breasts post op. Anyone else?
vchowdhury replied to 1Day1Life4Now's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
After my RNY gastric bypass surgery I did break out in a rash on my stomach and breasts. It was so bad that I went to urgent care. The doctor prescribed benadryl and another topical antibiotic. The rash cleared up within a week. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App -
When did food stop grossing you out?
vchowdhury replied to tenseintexas's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Eating food is still a struggle for me. I'm 5 months post RNY gastric bypass surgery. Eating anything seems to hurt my stomach, and it seems like I can't even stand to smell food. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App -
Does anyone regret having surgery?
vchowdhury replied to katragina's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sometimes I regret having the surgery because to be perfectly honest, I miss "pigging" out sometimes. I miss McDonalds, Burger King, Wendy's, and especially the fried fish place around the block. Let's face it, we were or are food addicts. Our stomachs have changed, but some of our thinking hasn't. I had my RNY gastric bypass on June 20, 2016. My weight at surgery counseltation was 288 lbs. My weight at surgery day was 265 lbs. As of today, Nov. 16, 2016 I am now 197 lbs! So, when I look at the scale and my baggy clothes, no, I don't really regret it because if I didn't have the surgery, I would still be 288 lbs today! If I could have lost the weight on my own, I would have done it years ago. It's still going to be a daily battle, but, thanks to the weight loss surgery, it's a battle that I'm going to win this time! Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App -

I want to know that too! When I cook or even go into a grocery store, the smell of food makes me sick. I'm 5 months post op. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App -
When did you start drinking coffee?
vchowdhury replied to ChristinasSleeveStory's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Before my RNY gastric bypass surgery I used to be an avid coffee lover. Since my surgery I can't tolerate coffee at all now for some reason. Instead of coffee I now drink black tea. I'm now almost 5 months post op. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App -
Did anyone cheat on preop
vchowdhury replied to Tboddy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes! I went on the pre op diet 3 weeks before my surgery and I did cheat one day per week for those 3 weeks. However, I still lost about 25 pounds by the day of surgery. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App -
Any one have surgery in January 2016
vchowdhury replied to Wanda58's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
My RNY gastric bypass went okay with no serious complications. What I can eat is still a "hit or miss", though. I still can't digest any kind of meat, Pasta, or bread. But, I guess that's also a good thing. I never lost any energy or had any serious pains. Just very bad irritation in the skin area where the laproscopic instruments were placed during surgury. I had to go to urgent care because the rash was so bad. But after this healed I was good to go. Just remember to take your Vitamins and you should be okay. You look great! I'm 4 months RNY gastric bypass post Op. Had the surgery on June 20, 2016. So far I'm down 76 lbs. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App -
Hello everyone, I had the RNY Gastric Bypass Surgery on June 20, 2016. My weight at my first surgery consultation was 288 lbs. My weight after my pre surgery diet was 265 lbs. Today, October 22, 2016, I am 213 lbs. So far, so good! I'm happy! I can't exercise because I have vascular necrosis of the right hip. One of the purposes of getting the surgery is to be approved for hip replacement surgery. My orthopedic surgeon wanted me to loose at least 100 lbs in order to not damage the prosthetic hip and also to alleviate any risk of infection. Since my bypass surgery, it's still hard for me to digest any kind of meat, Pasta, rice or bread. But, I think this will eventually reverse it's self. I hope so, because I really loved meat! It's so nice to have your "skinny" clothes "bag" and "sag" on you!! If you want a more detailed account of my weight loss journey, please go to my YouTube channel at Valerie Chowdhury.
