My insurance actually paid for most of it, my out of pocket was about $1500 dollars. But had the insurance not covered the surgery it would have cost me apx $14,000 was what the bill was I believe. That covers the surgery, fills for one year, and the testing leading up to the surgery.

I know the protien powders are yucky... try the Sytnrax Nectar brand..it tastes yummy.. and no chalky taste at all. I find mine on ebay.. It's comparable to Unjury with much much better taste!!!

I'm so sorry I haven't posted in ages. The last few months have been trying to say the least. I kind of leveled off and haven't lost more than a few pounds the last few months, but I wasn't working at it and definantly wasn't eating like I should. I need to get back on track. The last few months brought a divorce and a move... I knew it was coming. He didn't want this surgery at all.. and couldn't handle the decision. It just happened to be the final nail in the coffin. So Now that I'm settled in Harlowton, and up and kicking I'm hoping to get back on plan again and kick start the weightloss again... Keep in touch!!!!

Well, I'm four months out since surgery and down almost 60lbs!! I have never felt better. Granted I still chose to continue my protien shakes for breakfast(Syntrax makes awesome flavors and no chalky taste at all) and rarely eat anything but fish and chicken with a small salad. On occasion I'll splurge on that piece of pizza. I love cooking from the cookbook I got at Dr. Rohrer's Office, "Eating Well After Weightloss by [ame=http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/search-handle-url/002-3142992-8492827?%5Fencoding=UTF8&search-type=ss&index=books&field-author=Patt%20Levine]Patt Levine[/ame]", the recipes are simple and very family friendly. My three kids eat what I do 95% of the time. Dr. Rohrer did my surgery, and I know he does patients that had surgery in Mexico, and the costs of my fills had I not had surgery through him would be about $100.00 if that helps at all. I wish you all well, and God Bless!!!!

It's nice to see some action on the Montana Thread. I had the lap band 3-17-2008 in Great Falls, Dr. Rohrer rocks. His staff has been fantastic and so has he. I've lost about 30lbs to this point, and am excited to be cleared to get back into my excercise routine. I'm not near Flathead at all, I'm near Billings and have met a few ppl here and there in the area but not many. Billings doesn't offer banding only gastric so people have to travel to Great Falls or out of state which sucks!! Keep up the good work and nice to meet you.

Hi! I'm about six weeks out from surgery, and doing fantastic. I had my first fill about a week ago, and was surprised what so little fluid could do. To this point I've lost about 30 lbs in the last 6wks, and am just walking as of now for excerise. Although I am excited that Dr. Rohrer cleared me to exercise last Wednesday!! YaY! So I think I'm going to pick back up doing the gazelle and just adding to my daily walks for a few weeks. How's everyone doing thus far? I notice quite a few from Lewistown, myself I work in Harlowton so hi ya neighbors!! I hope everything is well with all.. and have a fantastic week!

This is becoming more and more real. I'm so excited but on the same token a little apprehensive, this is a huge change. I started the pre-op diet, and other than being really sleepy, but I work nights, have three kids, and taking some classes so no sleep and a reduced calorie diet has made me killer tired. I have everything done now, just sitting on a countdown... March 17th is the big day!!! I suppose I would feel better about this if i had some sort of support at home, my marriage is in shambles and has been for a while, I'm not sure why we're still together but my desire to have this surgury made for an interesting set of issues. My spouse is dead set against the procedure. He isn't leary or unsure.. he flat out disagrees. Which is transfering to the older kids. Im sure it will get better, and it stems from him not wanting me to be thin again.. but I need to do this for me.. for my kids.
